"Third Aunt, it's been a while since I last visited. You're not mad, are you?" Nina Walsh said to the woman behind the glass partition.
Her third aunt, Laney, waved a hand and laughed heartily. "This isn't exactly a nice place. It's bad luck. You should come less often."
After speaking, Laney studied Nina's face carefully. "I haven't seen you in two months, and you've filled out quite a bit. Things have been going well for you lately, haven't they?"
Nina Walsh smiled faintly. "Third Aunt, I'm pregnant. Five months along."
"Really? That's wonderful! Doesn't that mean I'll get to see my little grand-nephew or niece as soon as I get out?" Laney was as happy as a child.
Five years ago, Nina Walsh had taken the fall for Wendy Sherman and was sent to the women's prison. Life in prison wasn't easy. She was young and became a target for everyone to bully.
