Nico Lawrence took the umbrella and smiled back, "Thank you."
"You're welcome." Edward Anderson replied. He glanced at his wristwatch and turned back around.
Nico's grip on the umbrella tightened as she turned around and left the Cherden Hotel.
She stared blankly at the rain, lost in thought, until someone brought her car around for her. She got in and placed the umbrella on the side.
When she got home, for some unknown reason, she took the umbrella with her to her bedroom and placed it in a corner of her wardrobe.
After taking a bath, she lay in bed, unable to fall asleep, repeatedly picturing Edward Anderson and Bella Scott together. Eventually, she got up and searched Bella Scott on the internet.
As soon as Bella Scott's name appeared, so did Edward Anderson's. The two names were always linked together.
