(Jason's POV)
"I still don't understand how someone would channel the Ravines and travel through time." I said to Anna, "How would that work?"
We were in an airship that was automated by Felicity and on course to the Eastern Country where the Temple was located. I was sitting on a seat across from where Anna was sitting as she had her arms on her lap while giving me a serious look.
"The Ravines of Time is basically a pure magic power source that has immense Time Magic properties." She began to explain, "While I don't know how someone would channel the power without coming in contact with it, It is possible to use a very powerful Time Magic with it. But the amount of power and precise control with it is unbelievably powerful....."
I leaned back, "It'll require someone really strong, huh? Someone that has experience with Time Magic, huh?" I asked
She nodded, "Indeed."
I frowned, "There are two women that come to mind." I said, "But I have no clue if its possible they know of the Ravines...."
"Who are these women?" Anna asked
"Ultear Milkovich and Dimaria Yesta." I said, "One is a member of Crime Sorciere and the other is a member of Alvarez. Ultear uses Arc of Time and Dimaria uses Age Seal and God Soul: Chronos. I'd assume Dimaria is the most likely option considering she's a vessel for the literal God of Time..."
"I see.." She said, "She might be our culprit."
I frowned again, "I don't know." I said, "Since the War ended, my reports on her were....Odd...to say the least....Her and most Shields of Spriggan."
"We won't know for sure." Anna said, "But first, we must go to the source of where it was used, okay?"
I nodded, "Yea." I said, "Felicity, what's our ETA?"
"3 more hours, Sir." Felicity said through the speaker, "Stealth Mode is activated, we will not be detected by anyone."
"Alright." I said, "I guess we just sit here for 3 hours, I guess."
"How's your boy doing?" Anna asked, "It's a shame I couldn't meet him, maybe after all this is over."
"Erion is good, I think. And yea, hopefully after we finish this job." I said, "He did say something unsettling, though. I ought to go check on Kagura after this...."
She frowned, "What's wrong?"
"He smelled a bad dragon." I said, "And what's weird.....He said that after you told me about the Ravines...could be a coincidence."
"Wait, what? Ellaborate." She said, "A Bad Dragon? What does that mean?"
"Erion is half-dragon, he has this powerful sense of smell." I explained, "He can smell things from really far away. And it's weirdly specific, too. A couple of months ago, he became alerted all of a sudden and said 'Big Brother Dragon is in danger' and instantly flew away. I followed him to the Dreadlands and as it turned out, it was Natsu who was beaten and bloodied, attacked by the region's beasts. It was strange and everything. His sense of smell, it's almost as if he can tell when something bad is going to happen."
"He can sense danger from so far away? And so precise? That sort of dragon sense is rare..." Anna said, "Back in my day, Jason Glory told me stories of this one black dragon who had this powerful sense of smell and could track down other dragons across the world. It could tell what a dragon he's honed into is doing at that specific moment. It was a terrifying thing to hear, but Jason told me that the Dragon was long dead. I assumed he meant Acnologia but The Dragon King was different; he can smell dragons but his senses were more magical than physical."
I looked at her, "Is that so?" I said, "Well, I don't know if this is magical or physical. It's strange; it's as if after you told me about the Ravines, he smelled this 'bad dragon'. He was worried about Kagura, very worried. It's unusual. I played it off in front of Mavis because I didn't wanna worry her too, but Erion could tell that I took it seriously. He not only said it was one, he said all of the bad dragons."
"What could that mean?" She asked, "Acnologia is the only 'Bad' Dragon I could think of...."
"There are the Guiltina Five.....the ones they call gods." I said, "Maybe they're making a move.....I might reach out to Selene....But something is off....."
"To think after all this time, Dragons would still be alive...." Anna said
"Don't think I don't know about you and Igneel." I told her, "I met the guy."
She widened her eyes, "Y-You met Igneel?!"
I nodded, "He and the others are still inside their kids." I said, "I told him it wasn't time for them to come out, mostly because the dragonification isn't fully stopped. He didn't say anything else other than that he agreed."
"So he's still well." She said with a slight smile, "I'm glad."
I nodded, "Yea." I said, "Funny thing is, last year when Erion was born, it was Igneel and Grandine who he smelled inside Natsu and Wendy, making him slightly hostile towards them. It's odd, he seemed immediately hostile towards Dragons. He attacked Acnologia right after being born. Almost as if it was his instinct."
"Interesting." Anna said, "Wait....You mean right away?"
I looked at her, she had this look of bewilderment.
"Uhm..." I said, "Y-Yea."
"W-What color is he?" She asked, "In his dragon form...."
"Black..." I said, "He's got black scales and blue eyes. He even has powerful steel spikes and dark horns...why do you ask?"
She was silent for a moment, almost as if she was registering what she had just heard.
"I-It must be a mistake...." she began to mutter, "No....it can't be.....that's too crazy...."
I looked at her, "What are you talking about?" I asked, "Something the matter?"
"Jason, did Erion by any chance attempt to eat or bite Natsu-kun or Wendy-chan?" She asked, "Even Acnologia when they fought..."
I crossed my arms, "How did you...." I said, "He always tried to bite Natsu but I thought it was just him being playful.....wait....."
I remember the way that Erion used to look at Wendy, with eyes of pure hunger, like a predator looking at its prey.
Anna began to sweat slightly, "Jason..." she started, "T-That boy of yours....I might be wrong...but...."
"He's the reincarnation of the Dragon Eater....."
