War is upon us and I feel like I've betrayed my brother and fellow men. Within these months of being under Austrian rule, it's a difficult thing to endure. It's a constant battle living a double life, now, it causes me to partake in things that I do not find pleasing. I have taken innocent lives, forced myself upon women, and many other things under the Austrian oath... I couldn't save our fellow brethren that day, yet, I felt hopeless then just as I do now. I've abandoned the way of the Orcs, I have become dishonorable... nothing more than a mere savage.
Tears flowed down Subaka's face expeditiously, causing his garments to become wet in a mere matter of seconds. "I figured that I might find you here at the training grounds". Michaelangelo said, coming to counsel Subaka. "What is it that troubles you commander" ?
I straightened up and tried to dismiss the question, but that didn't work out. "Don't worry about such things -" . He places his hand on my shoulder.
"Commander... you're an Orc. We've slaughtered, enslaved, and converted your kind and now to even have to face your own Chief... I know that must deeply hurt you on the inside". Michael falls to his knees, crying with deep regret for his actions. "Raised under Austrian laws, regulations, and livelihood since I was a boy, I once thought that was the way. After battling with your Chief , he opened my eyes and my heart... "
I was moved by his words and his willingness to take responsibility , but I don't know if I should trust him. Though he may weep, are they sincere tears... Only time will tell.
Michael wipes his eyes and gets up. He puts out his hand, wanting to initiate a handshake. "Whatever path you truly choose, I shall stick by you regardless. At least this way , I can atone for all of my wrong doing and only then, shall you finally take my head".
Subaka smiled and placed his hand forward and instead of a hand shake, he initiated a fist bump.
"Only time will tell if your words hold the truth, but, you seemed sincere and for that you have my highest regard for now. Within my culture, this signifies our highest regards".
Michael understood and fist bumped Subaka, making an unexpected relation between Orc and Human.
