You Dig Your Own Grave
Lilith spun around furiously, her eyes blazing.
"She must have had an insider!" she shrieked, her voice slicing through the quiet lobby.
"I know she had connections! Someone helped her!"
Her finger shot toward me, trembling with rage.
"Someone like her could never reach the top three without cheating! There has to be fraud!"
Gasps rippled through the lobby.
Her heels cracked against the marble; sharp, angry gunshots as she stormed past me toward the chief proctor, the stern, iron haired woman standing before the notice board.
"I want to file a formal complaint!" Lilith declared, her voice shrill.
"I accuse Candidate Alayna of academic fraud! Her results should be invalidated immediately!"
A suffocating silence fell.
This was no longer a sibling feud, this was a direct attack on the exam institution itself.
The chief proctor's cold gaze moved from Lilith's wild eyes to my calm ones, then back again.
