With our wings, we flew to where Amelia and Alexos waited for us. The rest of our forces were on standby at the base of the mountain, a large contingent ready to respond at any moment's notice. As we descended, I could see the formation of soldiers, their banners fluttering in the wind.
Eiro stared down at them with a wary eye. The guy was so mistrusting. It made me wonder how Kira even broke his shell. "You're sure they'll stay put?" he asked, as if expecting them to pounce at any moment.
"Absolutely," I replied, trying to project confidence. "Amelia's orders are clear. No one moves unless directed. We're here to talk, not fight."
"Right," Eiro said, skepticism dripping from his voice. His golden eyes narrowed as if trying to read my thoughts. "And how do I know that you're not just using this as an opportunity to ambush me?"
