Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 - First Quest

[Ding! EMERGENCY MISSION: Survive]

System FS-984 does not have any potential host to inherit as System FS-984's host has no descendants.

If the Host dies, FS-984 dies.

Reward: Knowledge of a New CommandPenalty: Death

Condition For Success: Live Past the Encounter With The BanditsCondition For Failure: Aridel Dies]

Great, the system has a system.

Juniel read the Emergency Mission with haste, reacting quickly to the mission he activated

A interface materialized, and time stopped.

He found himself in the World of Systems, a world parallel to the world he was previously in. It was world that time flew as perceived by the System, in Juniel's case time stopped because of the urgent moment.

[Ding! Would You Like A Tutorial?]

Juniel clicked yes after he was prompted and a system message popped up.

[Ding! When any host uses , the Severity of the Mission's Penalty according to your host's values and the Difficulty of the Overall Mission according to a local scale.]

Juniel read the message with a subtle understanding of it. "So a penalty like death and a difficulty like one of the strongest people in the world would allow me to up the rewards I grant?"

[Ding! Affirmative! Would You Like To Begin?]

"I would love to."

[Ding! Please enter your Penalty.]

"Death."

[Ding! You have been granted a score of 100/100! on penalty!]

[Ding! You have scored a 10/100 in Difficulty of the Overall Mission (DOM).]

[Ding! Penalty Score 100/100. DOM Score: 10/100. Using the 7:2 ratio (DOM weighted 7, Penalty weighted 2), your final quest score calculates as: (10 x 7 + 100 x 2) / 90 = 3/10. Rewards tier: Tier 3/10.]

"Wow, a 7:2 Ratio is good to know, and the DOM having more weight makes sense," commented Juniel," System, I'd like to choose my rewards."

[DING! You have secured Tier 3 Rewards! Your maximum allowance is 3 total Tier points. Options: (A) 1 Tier 3 item, OR (B) 1 Tier 2 item + 1 Tier 1 Item, OR (C) 3 Tier 1 items. Choose your allocation.]

"Interesting, show me Tier 3"

Juniel studied the list with curiosity beaming through his eyes," System, What's spin the wheel?"

[Ding! Choosing Text description… Complete]

[You are now exiting the System Realm…]

"This whole bandit thing ain't too hard! I can't believe we wasted our time being soldiers when could have done something like this!" A masked man came out of the woods.

"Maybe we're just lucky." the second man came out.

"Or he's unlucky." said the third and last man to come from the trees.

Aridel looked at his quest and thought,' Death? That means the end… Well then…'

Aridel tightened his fist and bluffed, "Trust me, a fight with me is not something you desire."

The second man to come out mocked him," OooOoh, how scary!"

The bluff was… unsuccessful, to say the least.

As Aridel pulled out his sword he looked to the system.

[Quest: Survive The BanditsReward: ???Penalty: Death]

"You must be Milclaws." Aridel gritted his teeth, creating distance between themselves.

"In the flesh!"

The bandits charged at him. It was evident that they were not the true force of the Milclaw, as they were newcomers based on what they had said. Additionally, Barty's comments suggested that the Milclaw had been wreaking havoc for a significant period, indicating that the group Aridel encountered was not the primary force.

"Last chance to walk away," Aridel warned, his voice low and dangerous.

The leader sneered, "Three against one, boy. You're the one who should be walking away."

In a flash, Aridel moved. His blade sang through the air, catching the moonlight as it arced towards the nearest bandit. The man barely had time to raise his weapon before Aridel's sword found its mark, slicing deep into his arm. It felt incredibly natural to Aridel, like breathing.

The wounded bandit howled in pain, stumbling backward. His companions, momentarily stunned by Aridel's speed, quickly recovered and charged forward.

Aridel pivoted, using his momentum to dodge the second bandit's wild swing. He felt the rush of air as the blade passed inches from his face. In the same fluid motion, he brought his elbow up, connecting with the bandit's jaw with a sickening crunch.

The leader, more cautious now, circled Aridel warily. "You're good, I'll give you that," he growled, feinting left before striking right.

Aridel parried the blow, the clash of steel ringing out in the night. He could feel the raw strength behind the bandit's attacks, each impact sending shockwaves up his arm.

The wounded bandit, having recovered somewhat, joined the fray. Aridel found himself desperately defending against attacks from two sides. He ducked under one swing, only to feel white-hot pain as the leader's blade found his shoulder.

Gritting his teeth against the agony, Aridel knew he had to end this quickly. He feigned weakness, allowing his guard to drop slightly. The leader, sensing victory, lunged forward.

It was exactly what Aridel had been waiting for. With lightning speed, he sidestepped the attack, bringing his sword up in a vicious arc. The bandit's eyes widened in shock as Aridel's blade sliced across his chest.

The leader collapsed, leaving only the wounded bandit. Terror clear in his eyes, he turned to flee. Aridel, his blood singing with adrenaline, gave chase. He brought the man down with a flying tackle, pinning him to the ground.

As the dust settled, Aridel stood victorious, his chest heaving with exertion. The bandits lay defeated around him, a testament to his skill and determination. Despite the pain of his wounds, a grim smile played across his lips. He had survived, against all odds.

Aridel could flourish in this world. He was a genius. His combative ability was astounding for his first fight, and that was thanks mainly to his and his .

'This is where things get interesting, I hope Aridel can get something incredible.' thought Juniel

[Congratulations Aridel, you get 10 Gold Erids from completing your quest!]

'Tier 2 items huh? Fair enough.' Juniel squinted at the message.

It was 100 times better than 10 Bronze Erids, so it was still sufficient in the end.

With the tutorial on how to create a quest, Juniel decided he'd create another quest after Aridel recovered from his injuries.

Juniel commanded his shop tab. He able to purchase anything he wanted with the right amount of points, and he unfortunately had nothing a but a starter spin. It wouldn't hurt, so he used the starter spin.

The grand view of a towering golden embroidered wheel began to to take place, the wheel spun quickly and ticked on before abruptly stopping without ever starting to slow.

Juniel was confused as to what he had been granted,"Gene Guarantee Serum x5 (T6)."

Juniel's non-existent mouth fell agape. The description read as so: " The Gene Guarantee Serum is a serum that when used by a host grants bountiful yet restricted gene that are guaranteed by the rest of the host bloodline forever, Gene Guarantee Serum's are nigh essential for the brand of a dynasty, as the serum can grant guarantees in magic, aptitude, and appearance depending upon the tier of a serum."

Juniel stared at the serum's description. This single item would ripple through generations, every descendant of Aridel, for as long as the bloodline lasted, would carry whatever trait Juniel chose here. That was centuries. That was a dynasty's foundation, decided in a single moment by a system barely an hour old. The weight of it should have terrified him.

Instead, it felt like purpose.

'Perfect. I can grant one to Aridel for a quest. Unfortunately, the quest needs to be Tier 6, or it just won't do anything whatsoever. In technicality, a Tier 6 item was too much of a blessing for Aridel and Juniel to handle, as creating a Tier 6 quest was very difficult to do. Juniel was an intelligent system, he came up with two possible and probable mission combinations to achieve a Tier 6 Quest. He could either go the extremely safe route and think of a mission with a difficulty of 80/100, and a penalty of 10/100. But with where Aridel was, finding a mission of such difficulty seemed unlikely. The other option was much riskier in two ways, but it was more probable. Finding a mission with a difficulty of 50/100 and a penalty of 90/100.

This route was risky in two ways. The first way was the penalty, it was a penalty that was extremely long-lasting, and with death being 100/100, 90/100 didn't seem much better. The second way it was risky because of the questions behind the Gene Serum and how Juniel could waste it so early, as although he knew what it was, he still hadn't a clue how to work it.

'No Risk No Reward' Juniel thought, gritting his teeth. After doing so, he activated .

His world faded to black and then a ever-brighter light came into view, after admiring this, a screen came out of him.

"Submit Your Mission." There were three things he had to do that were unlike the tutorial. He had to give the mission a title, conditions, and give a certain quantity of the conditions.

Juniel clicked the button and wrote "The First Trials" as his chosen title. </p><p>Now Juniel had to select contents of the mission, something he wasn't given a choice for in the tutorial given. </p><p>After a lengthy section of uninterrupted thought, he came up with absolutely nothing, miraculously however, there was a <Suggestions> button that he was able to click. </p><p>After Juniel clicked the <Suggestions> button, 3 results came up and they were listed as so: "Be selected as an Imperial Squire for Caldrithia," "Become a Merchant accumulating 300 Gold Coins," and "Be selected as a Butler for the Alveric Family." </p><p>To Juniel this was a no brainer as Juniel didn't want a Family of Servants or Merchants. He wanted Warriors. </p><p>The ability to choose the quantity of times after selecting "Be selected as an Imperial Squire for Caldrithia" was locked at 0/1. </p><p>He clicked the <Penalty> button and decided the penalty would be "Destruction of Genitalia" This meaning he could no longer have kids. </p><p>This was a good penalty for two reasons. If it was rated 100/100 then it confirmed that adopting was impossible- or atleast they wouldn't be recognized as descendants, however if it was rated below that, then there was either a means of having a kid another way or you were able to adopt a kid and they'd still count as family. The other reason was less complicated, this penalty was 100% going to be at least a 90/100. </p><p>"Calculating Score…" </p></div></main></div></div><div class="Chapter_pagination__7wErL"><button Alongside it was also the appearance of monsters invading the world from the sky and from below.\n\nGods pitied mankind and bestowed divine bloodlines, creating superhuman people called the Supernals who can fend off the invaders. But not everyone who became a Supernal is suited for the role. Those people are pariahs that don't belong anywhere, especially when there are quotas for each divine bloodline.\n\nIn a world where society revolves around those with divine bloodlines, Kai is a Supernal with the lowest talent.\n\nHe doesn't fit with normal people and is too ordinary to mingle with Supernals.\n\nHe was ostracized for hogging a slot in a divine legacy, and his only family suffered for it.\n\nBut Kai isn't weak. It's just that nothing could properly check his bloodline.\n\n[Primordial Bloodline awakened]\n\n[Patron God: Goddess of the Primordial Night]\n\nNow, with the bloodline of the final night inside him, he will bring terror to those who wronged him.\n\nHowever, there's one big problem that he hadn't realized.\n\n--\nBonus Chapters will depend on your votes: Power stones, golden tickets, gifts, or even comments and reviews if the mood is great!\n\n100 Power Stones: 1 extra chapter!
