"Honey, can I talk to you for a second?"
"What is it?"
As Leyan pulled Xiaoyun aside right before the backyard entrance, everyone else was already back inside the house.
"I know you're not happy about me keeping a secret. But I'm only doing this for your sake... I'll reveal it to you when the time is right."
"Is it that obvious?" Xiaoyun questioned back.
"Everyone can see the frown on your face when you come downstairs."
Xiaoyun froze for a second. The more he thought about the secret they were hiding from him, the angrier he became.
"When is the right time?"
"Soon."
"I don't want to hear soon. Just tell me what happened to Houqin now. I'm more than ready to hear it."
Leyan hesitated for a second, but she eventually folded under pressure as Xiaoyun kept staring dead into her eyes.
"Tomorrow. I'll bring you to see her. Are you happy now?"
"I'm happy."
As Xiaoyun whistled his way back inside the house, Leyan let out a small sigh before following him inside.
