"Sixth Brother, run!"
Melanie Carpenter saw that she couldn't stop her father and could only urge Adrian Desmond to flee. However, Adrian just stood there as if stunned, allowing her father to beat and scold him. The ferocity of her father's assault made it seem like he intended to beat him to death.
"Are you stupid? My dad's going to kill you!"
Adrian remained motionless. He had his own agenda; he would rather his uncle beat him half to death than use his authority as an elder to force him into marrying Melanie.
Marrying Melanie was out of the question; it was utterly impossible!
Not unless he wanted to end his relationship with Sienna Johnson.
Sienna was now pregnant with his son, and Adrian couldn't bear the thought of her running away with their child again. It had taken him several years to find her the last time. If it hadn't been for George, he probably still wouldn't have found Sienna.
He wasn't sure he would be so lucky if it happened again.
