"Edward, that pendant isn't just jewelry," Carl said, his voice dropping to a serious hush.
"It's a long-lost relic belonging to a princess from Prince George's family. She vanished twenty-five years ago. No trace was ever found, so the royals eventually presumed she was dead."
"What are you saying?" Drake asked, leaning in. "That someone found a ghost's jewelry?"
"I'm saying," Carl countered, "that whoever had that pendant must have a direct connection to the missing princess."
Lee cleared his throat, his expression grim. "In the William family, Princess Addah's name is sacred. She was a once-in-a-generation genius. By twelve, she had already surpassed most scholars. By fifteen, she was a world-renowned lawyer—the legendary 'Lawyer NEXT.' She never lost a single case."
"Wait, the legendary 'Lawyer NEXT' who never lost a case? That was her?" Drake asked, clearly surprised.
"The same 'NEXT' who built the William Corporation?" Edmond asked.
"The very same," Lee nodded.
"But on the night of her birthday, right after the corporation was officially established, she vanished. The Empress, William Xianzah, was so heartbroken she became a recluse. They say she marks every passing day since the disappearance on her calendar, waiting for a sunset she'll never see with her daughter."
I didn't know the royal family's secrets ran this deep, Edward thought, a chill settling in his chest. "Then who is that lady? She looked plain and was dressed poorly, but she knew martial arts, and her movements were clearly professional. Therefore, she must have been in contact with the princess before her disappearance."
"Then why did she disappear on her birthday?" Edmond asked.
"Not even the royal family could find anything," Carl noted.
"Princess Addah was a genius," Lee said. "Hiding and covering any tracks that could lead to her whereabouts wouldn't be a problem for her; it would be a piece of cake."
"Meaning she didn't want to be found," Drake concluded.
"Prince George is asking where the pendant came from and who had it," Carl said.
"Things are definitely not as simple as they seem," Edward added.
"Yes, brother," Carl agreed.
Time passed quickly, and soon a week had gone by.
"Jessy, I have informed my best friend. She will pick you up at the airport," Rubby said.
"Please, Jessy, take good care of our child. Make sure that he or she is okay, and we must communicate often," Tasha added.
"Okay, I will take good care of myself. I want to find myself and build my personality. I want to be a good mother, but I don't really know how yet. I just hope that I will do the right things for my child," Jessy replied. "If you face any difficulties, just call me. Our project is coming up soon, and we need to launch the new vehicle models. This will take our business to the next level. Sisters, stay cool until I come back."
"We will take you to the airport," Eller said.
To ensure Jessy's safety, they had insisted she use Young's private plane. They knew that although this young lady was only nineteen, she lacked absolutely nothing.
"Jessy, we will miss you for sure. Even though we haven't known each other for long, you are such a darling," Eller said.
After Jessy boarded, the three friends stood at the airport, watching the plane disappear into the distance.
"Too bad. I just lost a great potential sister-in-law. My brother is doomed to stay single forever," Eller sighed.
"Haha, friend, you should pray that God has saved your brother instead!" Tasha laughed. "We only know her surface, but let me tell you, the face we have been seeing all this time isn't her real face. Our boss is no simple woman. She has a lot of secrets better kept away from ordinary humans."
"I once saw her side profile without that mask," Rubby admitted. "She is a rare beauty. Jessy is an absolute stunner."
"So you mean to say that the woman called Nancy is actually her?" Eller asked, completely overwhelmed by the news.
"Yes, that's her. She is the architect behind that mansion and the big boss of a very powerful corporation."
"I must have fought for world peace in my previous life to meet such a powerful young lady," Eller marveled. "And you two aren't any less incredible! My AI technology system must launch and sell out before the boss returns. Ladies, I'm out of here—I'm going to go make some money."
Tasha and Rubby found her hilarious, but they soon followed suit. They both wanted to earn their place at the top of the pyramid as the richest women, and they were determined to achieve it.
Eller drove over to her brother's villa. She collapsed onto the bed, groaning into the pillows.
"Oh my God," she mumbled. "That girl is not human. She's a devil. A genius, beautiful, terrifying devil."
Drake looked up, amused. "Why are you cursing your only friend? I thought you two were inseparable."
"You don't understand!" Eller bolted upright, her hair a mess. "Is she even real? I'm starting to think she's the leader of some secret international mafia, or maybe the reincarnation of a demon concubine from ancient times!"
Edmond handed her a glass of water with a dry smile. "Drink some water, Eller. Then tell us about this 'demon concubine.'"
"Do you remember when we visited the new neighbor?" she asked, her eyes wide. When they nodded, she continued, "That lady has a high-tech surveillance system hidden in her gate. It scrapes the data of anyone who walks through. That's how she knew about Nancy and Lee's family maid!"
She took a breath, dropping the final bombshell. "And it gets crazier. She was Nancy. She's been playing us this whole time. Oh, and that genius architect we've been trying to hire for the firm? That's her, too. Jessy is the architect."
The room went dead silent. The men traded looks of pure shock.
"I need to talk to her," Edward said, standing up immediately. "I want her on my team now."
"Too late, big brother," Eller sighed, flopping back onto the bed. "She's already on a private jet to the UK. She had business there, and she wanted a completely new environment to raise her baby. She said she has no one left except her child, so she needs to take the best possible care of them. She's gone."
