The IV was nearly finished, Philip Shaw worried it might slip out, reluctantly removed the needle tip. As he pulled the needle, Aldana Candi kept struggling, nearly causing him to prick his own hand.
He pulled back the blanket, held Aldana tightly in his arms. Her body was cold, drenched in cold sweat. Philip Shaw asked her, "Where does it hurt in your body?"
She shook her head in a daze, "I don't know... it hurts everywhere..." She rubbed her chest, "Hurts the most here."
He remained silent, only held her tighter. Her soft body pressed against his, and in her incessant tears, he seemed to feel her pain—a fleeting but piercing ache flashed through his heart, sending a chill throughout his body.
