Chapter 521 - Chapter 515.

Chapter 515.

When the golden beam of light shot into the sky, Wang Feng felt an overwhelming sense of strangeness.

It was even more exaggerated than what he had experienced at the Rakshasa God's statue. Back then, the Rakshasa God had bestowed the Nine Trials of a True God.

But now… This power—this aura—seemed to surpass even the Sea God's Nine Trials.

Wang Feng was baffled.

"Could Sea God Poseidon really be that optimistic about me?"

He knew that the divine inheritance process wasn't something the Sea God personally attended. Without being present, Sea God shouldn't be able to perceive his secrets—shouldn't be able to assess his inner being in such depth.

"There's no way Sea God descended to the mortal world, right?"

"Could he have been watching me from the God Realm? Impossible."

"Unless he was stunned by my handsome face?"

He laughed internally at the absurd thought, but the confusion remained.

As the golden divine light surged upward, Wang Feng could feel it establish some kind of intimate, mystical connection with his soul. The light flowed into his heart.

And just then, something strange happened.

His Dark Angel Martial Soul—which had always been dormant and enigmatic—suddenly stirred.

It rioted.

It began to repel the divine power while at the same time absorbing it.

Wang Feng was stunned.

For a long time now, he had known that although the Dark Angel Martial Soul looked like a martial soul, but it was inherently somewhat different. It didn't behave like any known martial soul of the Douluo Continent.

It felt… otherworldly.

Unlike the Chaos Green Lotus or the Pangu Axe, which were clearly transcendent existences beyond Douluo's understanding, this Dark Angel seemed to be something else too.

A higher-order energy form—not just a martial soul, but something closer to a divine legacy.

When Wang Feng first received it from the system, it had only been labeled a "mysterious humanoid martial soul." The name "Dark Angel" was one he had coined himself.

"Could it be… like Qian Renxue's Angel Martial Soul, a direct symbol of some god?"

He pondered the idea.

After all, Qian Renxue's Angel was directly linked to the Angel God.

So… could his Dark Angel be the legacy of a fallen or forgotten god?

That would explain everything, why it could absorb the Rakshasa God's divine power. Why it could now absorb even Poseidon's divine light. Why its presence always felt slightly incompatible with the rules of the Douluo plane.

As the golden light poured into him, Wang Feng noticed something remarkable—

The blood patterns on the Dark Angel Martial Soul began to glow with blue light.

The Domain of Original Sin stirred.

And within his sea of consciousness, the Dark Angel's seven wings, once pure black, began to shift…

From black to a majestic black-gold.

That was the reason.

That was why the golden divine light had weakened before it reached him completely.

Because just like when the Rakshasa God granted him the divine trials, most of the energy had been devoured by this Martial Soul!

Yet, what confused Wang Feng was this, he hadn't absorbed all of it. A large portion of the golden light had simply dispersed into the air.

Why?

"This Martial Soul… it contains seven blood patterns formed by original powers. It can absorb divine energy. While maybe weaker than the Chaos Green Lotus or Pangu Axe, it still possesses divine potential."

"But the world of Douluo doesn't recognize any existing God connected to this martial soul."

"Could it be that the deity it once belonged to has fallen somewhere in past or is from some other universe?"

He didn't know.

His understanding of the divine system within Douluo was limited. All he could do was speculate.

At that moment, the divine light dimmed and passed through Wang Feng's mask.

A trident symbol formed faintly on his forehead.

Wang Feng slowly opened his eyes.

All eyes were on him now. No one moved.

Bo Saixi looked at the still-intact sacred pillar, her expression unreadable, and then addressed him:

"Sir could you remove your mask?"

Her voice was calm, but her eyes held a flicker of urgency.

She had seen the sacred pillar nearly collapse. That kind of divine pressure couldn't possibly be from a normal Nine Trial blessing. Even the sacred pillar couldn't contain it.

To her, it could only mean one thing:

The Sea God himself had descended.

And yet, in the end, the light had weakened as if something interrupted it.

She needed to see who this person truly was.

Wang Feng didn't hesitate.

Tang San and the others had already seen his face. So had Hu Liena and her companions. He wore the mask mostly out of habit—to avoid unnecessary commotion.

With a calm gesture, he removed the mask.

The moment the mask was taken off, the trident mark on his forehead was revealed to all—

Not glowing with brilliant golden light like Tang San's…

But dim, almost shadow-like. A faint imprint. Mysterious. Deep.

A beat of silence passed.

Then—

"This man's too handsome, isn't he?" Seahorse Douluo blurted out unconsciously.

The words slipped out before he could stop himself. Realizing what he'd just said, he immediately shut his mouth, embarrassed.

Even among divine tests, mysteries remained. But one thing was clear—

Wang Feng was unlike anyone they had ever seen.

Among the other group, Tang San was undoubtedly the most handsome—at least until now. The man standing before them, cloaked in black, possessed a face that seemed detached from the mundane and harmonized effortlessly with the world around him. Just one glance, and you'd be struck with awe that such a man even existed. A second glance would draw you in deeper, and by the third, it would be almost impossible to look away.

The longer Seahorse Douluo looked, the more he felt something awakening within him—an epiphany, perhaps.

The first time Bo Saixi laid eyes on Wang Feng, she instinctively understood why his presence had caused such a tremendous upheaval. When the mask slipped away from his face, revealing his features fully, it was as if his entire being radiated a natural, pure aura. His presence seemed to merge with the essence of the sea and sky—boundless, vast, and capable of both purifying and embracing everything.

"This man's body... must be favored by the gods," Bo Saixi thought to herself.

"Perhaps this is why Poseidon himself granted such a mysterious trial—one that surpasses even the Ninth Trial of Poseidon..."

But in truth, they were all mistaken.

The real reason behind the divine test lay in the past—Poseidon had once truly encountered Wang Feng. That meeting left such an impression that Poseidon created a trial beyond even his own traditional tests, just for him. Sadly, no one, not even Wang Feng, was aware of this secret.

The reason for Poseidon's disappearance afterward? That too remained shrouded in mystery.

After pondering for a while, Bo Saixi turned to Wang Feng with a gentle, serene tone, her voice carrying the grace of a High Priestess once more.

"Wang Wu, can you tell me your origin?"

Wang Feng paused, then calmly replied,

"My name is Wang Wu. I come from the Extreme North, beyond the Soul Beast Forest on the northern continent. These three are my disciples. I brought them here to Sea God Island for training."

To be fair, everything Wang Feng said was true—except for his name.

But to Tang San and the others, it sounded completely fabricated.

The name Wang Wu wasn't known to the world, but if you mentioned the title "White Pontiff," nearly everyone on the continent would recognize it. Yet very few had ever heard the name Wang Feng now claimed. Tang San, however, knew. He had heard it back when they were in Slaughter City.

Bo Saixi continued to study Wang Feng with a faint smile.

"I see. Judging by the divine light during your assessment, your trial should either be the Sea God Nine Trials Poseidon. Normally, only one person receives a this test, yet this time we have two—one with the Ninth Test, the other with the something never seen before. Unusual, but not impossible."

As a Great Priestess, Bo Saixi couldn't admit her own uncertainty. Doing so would diminish her authority as the island's great worship.

Still–, her guess was quite accurate.

Wang Feng indeed carried the Sea God Nine Trials. Like the Rakshasa Nine Trials, his Sea God Test was condensed—comprising only two trials. And these were genuine, not something Wang Feng had fabricated.

He nodded silently in confirmation.

After a moment of quiet thought, Bo Saixi made a decision. Though Wang Feng was not the Poseidon's heir, he was still undergoing the Poseidon Test, which made him a person of great significance to Sea God Island.

"These four are honored guests of Sea God Island too," Bo Saixi said to Seahorse Douluo.

"Let them stay in Seahorse City. Accommodate their needs as long as it doesn't interfere with the trials."

Having issued her instructions, Bo Saixi turned back to Wang Feng.

"The Sea God Trials, even those with only one or two stages, are extremely dangerous. I hope you approach them with everything you've got—not only to succeed but to rise further."

Her final words were meant for both Wang Feng and Tang San's group. These trials weren't just symbolic—they were transformative.

Then, as if carried by divine wind, Bo Saixi transformed into a streak of red light and vanished.

The trials before the Sacred Pillar had concluded, but they left Wang Feng deep in thought.

He found himself reflecting on the concept of godhood in the world of Douluo. Though he hadn't previously desired such a path, it was one that could no longer be avoided.

Whether one walked, jumped, or flew toward it—one way or another, this path had to be seen... and faced.

But Wang Feng knew one thing for sure—his path would be far more difficult than that of Tang San or even Qian Renxue.

Much more difficult.

Wang Feng had no idea just how vast the gaps between each level truly were after reaching Rank 90. How much time would it take to ascend each rank beyond that point?

To compress and purify soul power all the way to the 90th level—it was definitely an astronomical task.

Even now, having just broken through to Rank 68, Wang Feng could already feel how incredibly difficult it was. The power surge from this breakthrough gave him a sense of the immense pressure to come.

If I can truly reach Rank 90 one day, will I be able to fight against the gods themselves? Would the laws of this world even tolerate my existence then? Or would I provoke the greed and fear of the powerful beings among the gods?

What would happen to me then?

His thoughts drifted far away, down uncertain paths of possibility.

The world of Douluo was still full of wonder and endless future prospects—but at the same time, it was a world of danger.

Thinking too far ahead was pointless. Right now, the most –urgent task was surviving the crisis that loomed three years from now.

In just three years, he hoped Tang San and the others could complete their trials and leave Sea God Island—but that would be extremely difficult.

"Everyone, please come with me."

Seahorse Douluo's voice interrupted their thoughts. Unlike before, his tone was now warm and polite, a smile replacing his former sternness.

"Follow me to Seahorse City. I will arrange accommodations for you. Rest for a few days, and I'll assign someone to guide you through your trials."

Everyone nodded in agreement and followed him.

"This White Pontiff, Wang Wu, is that amazing after all…" Ma Hongjun muttered quietly, glancing sideways.

"He only has two Sea God Trials. Compared to you, Brother San, that's nothing... But I have to admit, this guy is ridiculously good-looking. Even though it's only the second time I've seen him, it's like he's glowing or something."

He paused, then added with some envy,

"Just look at the people on Sea God Island—even Senior Seahorse Douluo was stunned…"

His jealousy was evident, and Dai Mubai nodded silently in agreement.

Wang Feng was, indeed, extraordinary.

"What's the use of being handsome…"

Bai Chenxiang suddenly chimed in, trying to comfort Ma Hongjun.

"Actually, for girls, being handsome is something to admire from afar… But the more handsome and capable a man is, the more distant he feels. Many girls might not even want to be with someone like that. They'd feel inferior—like they're not worthy of him—and wouldn't dare to fall in love with such a person."

She glanced meaningfully in the direction Wang Feng had gone.

"Look at him. He's incredibly handsome, his status is exceptional, and yet is there any girl by his side? No. He doesn't have even one companion. Do you know what that means?"

She smiled softly.

"It means he's not as great as you!"

Ma Hongjun stared at her, wide-eyed and stunned. Then, without thinking, he wrapped an arm around her shoulders and said emotionally,

"Xiangxiang… I never imagined you'd say something like that! So does this mean you're finally admitting you're my woman?"

Blushing furiously, Bai Chenxiang pushed him away.

"Who said that?! Hmph! You've never even proposed to me properly, I was just trying to make you feel better, okay?!"

Tang San couldn't help but smile as he listened to the conversation.

"Actually, Chenxiang makes a lot of sense," he said thoughtfully.

Oscar chimed in with a grin, "Someone being too good can definitely be discouraging. If I had to choose…"

He paused, a serious look crossing his face as he continued dramatically,

"I'd still want to be that good person."

Everyone: "..."

Shen Lingqi raised an eyebrow and teased him with a playful smile,

"You mean you want to become that good just to attract a bunch of girls?"

Oscar panicked and immediately waved his hands in denial,

"No, no! It's not like that! The real reason is you, Lingqi. You're too amazing—I just want to be good enough for you. If it weren't for you, I'd never want to become that kind of guy!"

Shen Lingqi chuckled softly.

"Who said I need you to be worthy of me? I need to work hard so I can be worthy of you."

Watching their witty exchange, Tang San couldn't help but reflect.

Oscar's never even been in a relationship—how does he come up with stuff like this so smoothly?

He looked down at Xiao Wu's hand in his, feeling the warmth of her presence.

Maybe this is what my relationship with Xiao Wu is all about. There's no need for sweet talk, just the silent tenderness we share.

"I disagree," Ning Rongrong suddenly said, raising her hand.

"When two people truly love each other, they're never held back by their differences in power or status. If someone loves another sincerely, they'll work hard to become someone worthy. They won't be discouraged. At least, I won't."

Bai Chenxiang nodded but added thoughtfully,

"That's true, Rongrong, but what if no matter how hard you chase, all you ever see is someone's back?"

Everyone fell silent.

They all understood who she was referring to—brother Feng.

"Even then, you shouldn't give up," Ning Rongrong replied firmly. "If love is so easy to give up, then it's not love at all. Even if all I see is his back—or if I can't even see that much—I'll still keep chasing. I'll keep going until the day I physically can't anymore."

Bai Chenxiang looked at her, seeing the fire of determination in Rongrong's eyes, and felt deeply moved.

Zhu Zhuqing remained silent, her mind drifting back to that moment in the Supreme Pontiff Palace…

To the words he had once whispered as she lay in his arms:

If one day, I disappear from this world or if this world no longer has me…

She didn't dare to dwell on that thought.

"I support Rongrong," Zhu Zhuqing said softly.

Tang San smiled.

"It's true. If the gap between two people in love becomes too large then the one ahead shouldn't stop. But they also shouldn't leave the other behind. They should reach back and help the one behind move forward with them. At the very least, that's what I would do."

He glanced meaningfully at the others.

"And that's exactly what Brother Feng has been doing all along."

Tang San's words hit the mark.

Ning Rongrong's cheeks flushed red, and even Zhu Zhuqing had a faint blush on her face.

Meanwhile, Wang Feng had no idea what the group was discussing.

If he had overheard, though, he might've quietly agreed with Bai Chenxiang's earlier thoughts:
