The carriage did not decelerate, nor did the driver guiding the massive, scaled horse-like beasts shout a single word of warning. If anything, the crack of the whip grew harsher, and the beasts surged forward at a breakneck speed.
Though Kai Syaoran had originally chosen to let the minor disturbance pass, the sheer persistence of the approaching carriage forced him to glance back.
