The smell of gunpowder hung in the air, and the atmosphere was incredibly tense. Her words immediately broke the tension.

Thomas Shannon's voice was cold, his expression disdainful.
Lucifer sneered, turning his handsome face towards Sophie Sullivan, looking utterly unconvinced.
The two men spoke in unison.
Their nearly growling voices made Sophie Sullivan's eardrums ache. She glared angrily at Lucifer, then fiercely at Thomas Shannon. "I'll count to three. If you don't let go by then, you'll both be sorry!"
"Three."
Lucifer pursed his lips, his deep blue eyes gazing at her with a wronged expression.
"Two."
Thomas Shannon's cold eyes were filled with a sinister, hostile aura as they stared at her unblinkingly.
Sophie Sullivan's face was taut, her expression cold, her red lips slightly parted. Just as she was about to utter the final "one," both men let go simultaneously.
