"Are you okay?" Elsewhere in the camp, to be more precise, in the changing rooms that the students shared with the heroines, we see Mirko sitting on a bench with a lost look in her eyes as she stared at the lockers. Just a few steps away, Mt. Lady was standing with her arms crossed, leaning against the door frame of the changing room.
"A brat made me look like a novice. How do you think I feel?" the white-haired girl asked angrily, remembering over and over how that boy dodged every blow, blocked every attack, and did it all with a carefree smile, like the damned smile of an old man sitting in a park feeding pigeons. How she despised him.
"Like shit, that's for sure," the blonde shrugged mockingly, approaching her work partner to sit beside her. "Don't feel so bad. I was also taken out of my bubble by that guy. He made me realize that, more than being a heroine, I thought I was a celebrity, and he was right." Bringing her hand to her face, she removed her mask and looked at the rabbit woman, who just continued with a blank stare.
"He has no right to say who is worthy or not. I didn't train my whole life and go to UA just so some brat can tell me I'm just a hypocritical bully who uses the title of pro-hero as a facade," the young woman with fair skin said firmly as she stood up to leave. She needed to sleep and maybe leave; she didn't want to see that boy again.
"He has the right to say that... maybe yes, maybe no," causing the white-haired girl with rabbit ears to stop. Yu remained seated and looked Rumi in the eyes. "But I myself have seen... what Naruto did. He didn't hesitate to be a human shield to prevent a woman and her baby from being hurt by gunfire. He didn't hesitate to run after the villain and ignore me, knowing that this could lead to him being expelled from UA..." In a soft voice, the blonde couldn't help but remember the day she saw the Uzumaki in action.
"..." Mirko couldn't argue with what Mt. Lady was saying. She knew what had happened a few weeks ago, when that boy prevented a kidnapping, saved a mother and her child, and...
"If you had only seen it, Naruto... he could have simply jumped off the train to avoid getting hurt, or even derailed the train to prevent more serious damage. Lives would have been lost, yes, but he had another solution: to risk his life to save everyone." With Yu's words, Mirko returned to the dressing room to sit near the blonde and continue listening. "He tried to stop the train with his bare hands. Hell, he was even crazy enough to destroy the tracks using his feet to stop it." Smiling, she shook her head and continued, "When I arrived at Hosu Station, I had already called all the hospitals and fire departments to prepare for the worst, but instead, I found the train already stopped and every single passenger perfectly fine, not a single one injured."
"And the boy?" she asked almost in a whisper; she hadn't even bothered to read the details of this case, a grave mistake.
"He... was a wreck. I've never in my entire life seen anyone so badly hurt. It was horrifying to see." Losing her smile, the blonde shuddered. "He had lost his shoes, his feet were burned, his hands were covered in blood... and his arms seemed to want to separate from his body. The bullet wound he suffered while trying to save the civilians had opened up, leaving his internal muscles exposed."
"..." Wrinkling her face in pain, the white-haired girl could imagine the shinobi's state.
"My first thought was to take him to a hospital, but he just wanted to leave... I just took him to my apartment and treated his wounds as best I could." With a sigh, she stood up and, smiling, headed for the exit. "I remember receiving hundreds of calls and emails, all directed to Naruto for interviews and hearings to reward him for his great act of heroism, but he refused to do it."
"Why?" asked the rabbit woman seriously, staring intently at the blonde, who just shrugged.
"He told me he only did what anyone should have done and that he wasn't the least bit interested in being rewarded or glorified. He's a strange boy, don't you think?" With that, Yu left, leaving Mirko alone.
"..." She just sat there with a lost look in her eyes. Ever since she was a child, she had believed that the world was divided into heroes and villains, that everything was black and white, and that once you were a villain, you would never stop being one. "Maybe... just maybe, you are an exception..." With those thoughts, she was left alone in the changing rooms.
...
It was 7:00 PM, and the students had finally finished their tough training regimen. They were all dirty, tired, and hungry, but just when they thought they could finally rest, they ran into a big problem.
"Here's everything you need to cook!" Atop a pile of boxes stood a smiling Ragdoll, accompanied by the other pro-heroes nearby. The blue-haired woman in the yellow suit had a wide grin plastered on her face as she saw the disapproving looks from her students. Jumping down from the boxes, she revealed vegetables, meat, and other cooking ingredients. "What? You thought we'd feed you every night? Ha! Gullible fools!" the catwoman in the yellow suit mocked the teenagers.
"You are diabolical..." Mina couldn't contain herself, and her companions, who thought the same, didn't refute her.
"Us? How cruel, Pinky," Pixie-bob mockingly shrugged. "But anyway, you all reek of sweat. You have 30 minutes to clean up and relieve yourselves."
"..." The angry and tired looks of some students did not move the pro-heroes; finally, they all resignedly followed their teachers' request.
30 minutes later...…..
All the students were ready to start cooking, helping each other, but it was difficult to do so when one of their classmates was showing off his skills.
"Shouldn't we help him?" Kirishima asked Kaminari doubtfully.
"Who?" Returning the question with an awkward smile, the electric teenager watched along with his classmates as the class shinobi cut vegetables at high speed with a sharp knife, placing them all in a large pot.
"Why is he cooking alone?" Mandalay asked doubtfully, having just arrived and seeing how her fellow heroes, along with several students, were just watching the shinobi cook.
"He arrived first and offered to prepare something for everyone. It was kind of him," explained Ryukyu calmly, smiling with her arms crossed, satisfied and happy that the teenager had offered to cook for his teammates, who were exhausted after training.
"Yes, very kind." The pro-heroes couldn't help but look doubtfully at a carefree Mt. Lady, who was sitting next to the students with a napkin hanging from her neck and some wooden chopsticks in her hand.
"What?" Feeling the gaze of her peers, the blonde just smiled.
"Mt. Lady, this is supposed to be for students only," scolded the Dragon heroine in annoyance, apparently having to deal with the newbie as if she were a teenager.
"And miss out on what Naruto cooks? No thanks. Why don't you sit with me and wait?" The pro-heroes had no choice but to listen to the blonde, since it would be impolite to reject the Uzumaki's kind gesture.
"..." The latter had an impassive look as he took several carrots and cut them in just seconds, making his hands appear blurry to his companions. Taking everything, he placed it in the large pot and then stirred it with a wooden spoon.
"Salt."
"Here." Ibara, who was near the blond boy, gave him what he asked for. The girl's hands were covered in flour, as she had offered to knead and make the noodles for the dish her friend was preparing.
"Sensei, what are you preparing?" Izuku asked as he carried dozens of bowls to put them on the table.
"Ramen." Taking some cloves of garlic and placing them in the pot, the blond was finally able to stir the ramen more calmly. "This will be the best you've ever tasted... or the last, who knows?" Shrugging his shoulders, he took a taste and sighed calmly before beginning to serve his companions.
"That... was a joke, right?" Ochako asked softly as she watched the bowl of ramen arrive.
"Yes." Carrying the last bowl, the blond boy threw it across the table so that it landed in front of Aizawa, who looked at the soup with curiosity.
"It seems our partner is learning to be more normal..." Kirishima's joke only earned him an intense stare from the shinobi, which sent a shiver down his spine. "Or maybe not."
