Cherreads

Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5

''Pearllie, I'm starving," I said.

I said, "Go eat then," while attempting to solve the math issue in front of me.

Would you like to eat?

Are you crazy? I'm not going to the cafeteria.

She exhaled deeply.

I set my pencil aside and turned to face her. Okay, let me complete this and then we'll go to lunch.

She reclined with a broad smile. These tests are the worst ever.

But we're almost done.

"Do we depart tonight?"

I proposed, "In the morning."

She bowed. Did you tell your parents about that?

I shrugged, "Not yet. I honestly don't even know what to say."

My mother would go crazy if she knew I was planned to be gone for a long time, so that's not a bad idea.

You still haven't told them?

I left my dad a voicemail," she laughed, "Kind of I did. "He's serious,"

I gave a head nod. Gamma Arthur was an extremely serious individual with little sense of humor. Fortunately for Ashley, she inherited more from her mother. strong sense of humor and unwavering loyalty.

What if you meet your mate?" I said as a question. "I'll tell them tonight."

That would be fantastic because it is clear that he does not reside in this pack.

My own doesn't either.

You don't realize that you have only been eighteen for a day.

I rolled my eyes and said, "You've only been 18 for 6 months."

She flinched, fainting, and laid on the ground. "And I've had six months of roaming the streets of the pack searching, searching, and searching."

Laughing once more. It doesn't matter either way; I have to go.

Right, I'm heading to the restroom while you finish that.

She sprang up and left the room as I nodded. I made an effort to pay attention to the figures on the page that were hazy. My head was heavy, and I could see the edges of my surroundings turning black.

Oh, what, I murmured.

As the room turned completely black, I sat there breathing deeply. The wall should have been there, but now there was a bright light coming from it.

I dialed "Hello?"

The dazzling light revealed the shape of a woman.

"Artemis."

"Mother," she rephrased.

I sat back, less alarmed than the first time, and said, "Right. Sorry. Mother." The question, "Why are you here?"

"Since yesterday, I've felt strange."

What is it, then?

The magic that is involved is more powerful than even my own, and the upcoming issues can hide themselves even from me, I don't sure.

I leaned forward and sat up more. "Who has the authority to carry that out?"

Only other gods and goddesses have the power to prevent gods and goddesses from viewing them.

Oh my goodness. Okay, so who come to mind?

"Child, I really don't know."

I'm going to the royal city, which has the largest library of any pack, to attempt and find out information.

"On just the impending danger?"

My cheeks started to burn. I briskly glanced below.

"I know it all seems so unbelievable, but you have to trust me."

It simply seems so absurd.

"Others don't believe that I awarded you a mark.

I've been concealing it. Even after seeing it, they didn't believe.

She cocked her head to the side and pursed her lips.

Um, may I ask you a question?"

Naturally, my dear.

Why did you pair my sister with Alex, I ask you?"

"The sister of the future alpha?"She enquired.

I gave a head nod.

"You are destined for something far greater than the upcoming Moon Mist alpha," the speaker said.

"Is there anything better than being Luna? and spending time with the man I love?"

"What you feel for him is not love. an obsession. You will command a powerful army and look after all of my lovely wolves. My little sweetheart, you will discover your soul mate.

"Okay."

I must leave. The menace hangs above you all, so use caution.

I nodded and watched as my mother, Artemis, disappeared and the space got back to normal.

When I opened my eyes, Ashley was in front of me.

"What in the world is happening?"She enquired.

"What?"

"You were merely seated there. like being hypnotized. Are you alright?"

You do recall me telling you about Artemis, right?"

"Yeah?"

"That was what it was."

"Huh?"

Artemis had arrived.

"Here? in this space?"

Both yes and no. She was there when I returned to that chasm.

What was her desire?Ashley enquired.

It appears that everyone is under peril.

"A danger? What danger?"

"She is unsure. She is blind to it.

But, Ashley said, "She's a Goddess."

Yes, which is why she believes a different God or Goddess is responsible for this.

O my Goddess.

"Yeah."

What should we do, exactly?"She enquired.

I sighed and said, "Stop it, I suppose."

"How can we prevent something that we are unaware of?"

"Hopefully there will be something in the Royal City's archives."

"This is a lot, then. Before we concentrate on rescuing the entire wolf species, let's eat and then focus on our testing.

That is an excellent idea.

The bell for lunch rang as we were leaving the library.

"Awesome. I do need to see everyone right now.

"It'll be alright,"

We walked inside the cafeteria, which was kind of vacant, and as the crowds started to trickle in, I rolled my eyes.

"Ellie!I could hear Harmony calling.

"You've got to be joking me. Can she not get the hint?"

She and Alex were walking toward me hand in hand, so I turned to see.

"Ell..."

"No. What do you two not comprehend? No. I don't want either of you to see me. I don't wish to converse with you. I yelled, "I don't know either of you.

You must not address us in that manner. Alex will be your future alpha, and I will be your future Luna. You must recognize our link and us.

"You two can fuck off right away."

"Enough already, Elanor. You won't talk to us like that. We're mated and in love, and it can't be helped.

Oh, Goddess. I'm done listening, please. Stop chatting with me.

I'll expel you from the pack.

Do it now. No, I don't.

With my tray in hand, I spun around and left them both there.

Dear Ellie, Watch up.

I halted and awaited Ashley's arrival.

"What will you do if he does expel you?"

Not caring? I shrugged my shoulders. I am capable of being a renegade. I can apply for a different pack. I mean, I'm confident I would be welcomed because I'm smart and useful. Maybe I'll discover my mate who is from somewhere else?"

She exhaled deeply.

"Ash, don't worry about me. I'll be all right. Even if this is brand-new, I'm still furious over everything.

"I perceive. So let's eat, do these tests, pack, and depart for the time being.

The English, Wolflore, history, and ancient tales tests were easy to complete because they contained information we had been taught since the day we were born. I nodded and hurried back to the library as I ate the mystery meat and some random vegetable that jiggled on my lunch tray.

After giving the Dean the folders, Ashley and I departed for our individual houses.

Would you like a ride?"She enquired.

"Nah," I shrugged, "I think I'll run."

"Ellie, that's a 10-mile run."

Not run by humans, Ash.

"Oh. Okay. Yes, enjoy yourself. At seven, I'll be at your place."

Make it six. Before everyone wakes up, I want to go.

Sure, why not!"

The smells, sights, and sensations of the dirt beneath my paws were intensified as I turned toward the trees and rushed across the field, feeling my bones crack and stretch as I forced onto all fours. Silver fur erupted from my body as my wolf took possession.

It was a peculiar metallic smell that struck my nasal cavity about a mile from our house, and it was almost overbearing and burnt. My wolf cried a little, but I pushed her on.

Let's head home so we can inform dad and have a patrol look for the stench.

She whimpered once more.

Dad will handle it; we should go home because we can't manage it.
