"Thanks for taking me with you," Rin expressed her gratitude.
After the amazing trip, the trio found themselves back in Sendai. Currently, Iori and Izumi were dropping off Rin in front of her house. Rin smiled warmly, "No probs, I'm looking forward to more of these adventures."
"We're definitely going to have more of these, I'm sure of it. See you later," Izumi replied.
Rin waved and headed inside the massive gate of her house. The mother-son duo continued their ride back home, content with the memorable day they had just experienced.
They reached home rather quickly, but the door was locked from the outside. Iori commented, "Looks like your father already went to the shop."
Izumi concurred, "Seems so! Lately, I feel like he's been working a lot more."
Iori added, "Truth be told, he is overworking a bit. But the good thing is that his busy schedule will only last for a couple of weeks or so."
Izumi was intrigued, "Really?"
Iori explained, "Yeah, the whole mall thing will be wrapped up in a couple of weeks, and the same goes for the house as well. After that, he'll have more free time."
Izumi then asked, "So, we'll be moving soon?"
Iori clarified, "Well, we'll be moving out soon for sure, but we haven't decided when exactly."
They entered the room after Iori unlocked the door with the spare keys she had.
Izumi then asked, "By the way, I never asked you, what did you name the mall?"
"We never told you, did we?" Iori asked in response, and Izumi shook his head in denial.
Iori continued, "Well, we're going to call it Fujinoyama Shopping Hub. I was the one who decided it."
Izumi smiled and replied, "That's a nice name. I can't wait to visit every nook and cranny after it opens."
Iori chuckled, "Sure, sure you can. Anyway, let me tell you the name of the new building we decided on before you have to ask about it"
Izumi was intrigued and said, "Sure."
Iori revealed, "We decided to name it Yorokobi Residence"
Izumi was impressed, "That's an awesome name."
Iori smiled and explained, "Yeah, it is. It means 'Residence of Joy.'"
Iori continued with enthusiasm, "Yorokobi Residence will be more than just a building. It's going to be a place where people can create beautiful memories. We've designed it with heavy focus on the joy of living, where families can grow together, friends can laugh together, and everyone can find happiness in their own way."
Izumi's eyes sparkled with excitement. "That sounds amazing, Mom. I can already imagine how wonderful it will be."
Iori nodded, her eyes reflecting the same excitement. "I'm glad you think so, Izumi. Your father and I want it to be a place that brings smiles and happiness to all who come here. It will be a true reflection of our family values, and we hope it becomes a cherished part of our community."
Izumi couldn't help but feel proud of his parents and their vision. "I'm sure it will, Mom. You and Dad are doing something incredible."
Iori ruffled Izumi's hair affectionately. "Thank you, my dear. We're looking forward to making a difference and sharing that joy with others."
As they discussed their future plans, the warmth of family and the promise of a new beginning filled the room. Izumi couldn't help but feel grateful for the path his family was paving.
"Enough talk about the house and business," Iori said, shifting the conversation. "What are your plans for today? It's a holiday, isn't it?"
Izumi stretched and yawned, feeling a bit tired from the car ride. "I'm already tired from the car ride, so I'll probably take a nap in my room and then watch some volleyball matches on TV."
Iori nodded in agreement. "That sounds like a nice idea. I think I'll take a nap too."
With their plans for the day decided, they both retreated to their respective rooms.
As Izumi entered his room, his eyes landed on a package resting on his bed. The package had a simple but intriguing label that read "from Dad." His curiosity surged as he picked it up and wondered what his father had sent him.
"Dad... I wonder what he's put inside," Izumi mused with excitement, shaking the package gently.
He eagerly unwrapped it, and as the contents were revealed, a broad smile spread across his face. In his hands, he held a PlayStation 3, a gaming console he had been yearning for. This was a delightful surprise.
"How did he know? I wanted one of these," Izumi marveled, feeling grateful for his father's thoughtful gesture. The PlayStation 3 was a gaming device that had captured his interest right after its launch couple of months ago, and he couldn't wait to dive into the world of gaming with it.
Izumi's plan to take a nap had completely slipped his mind as he quickly went back to the common room and eagerly set up the PlayStation 3. He decided to start with a game of Ridge Racer 7, a popular racing game that he'd been wanting to play for a while.
As the game loaded and the first race began, Izumi was immediately struck by the stunning graphics and smooth gameplay. The PlayStation 3 was a significant upgrade from his trusty old PlayStation 2. The high-definition visuals and realistic details made the racing experience feel incredibly immersive.
He couldn't help but compare the two consoles. The PlayStation 2 had been a faithful companion for years, but now, in the world of the PlayStation 3, it seemed somewhat dated. The new console offered a level of realism and excitement that was hard to match.
Izumi continued to play [Ridge Racer 7], getting lost in the exhilarating races. He was amazed at how the gaming industry had advanced over the years. The PlayStation 3 had opened up a world of gaming possibilities he hadn't even imagined.
As he played, he couldn't help but appreciate the thoughtful gesture of his father, who had brought this incredible gaming experience into his life. The day had taken an unexpected turn, and Izumi was loving every moment of it.
Iori's voice interrupted Izumi's intense gaming session, and he blinked in surprise as he checked the time.
"Playing games, huh, Izumi?" Iori who just came there said with a hint of amusement.
Izumi quickly realized that he had lost track of time, engrossed in the PlayStation 3. He first turned towards his mother, and then his gaze darted to the wall clock.
"What! I've been playing games for 4 hours?" Izumi exclaimed in disbelief.
"Four hours, huh?" Iori repeated with a smile, finding his enthusiasm quite amusing. It seemed that the PlayStation 3 had completely captivated her son's attention.
Izumi couldn't contain his excitement and began telling his mother about the PlayStation 3 his father had sent as a gift.
"Mom, you won't believe it! Dad sent me a PlayStation 3! I had no idea he was going to get me one," Izumi exclaimed.
Iori chuckled and replied, "Well, your father and I decided to get it for you together as a surprise. But I had no clue it was arriving today."
Izumi grinned and said, "Wow, that's an awesome surprise, Mom! Thanks to both of you."
Iori laughed and teasingly added, "But you've been playing for four hours straight. I guess we know where all that excitement went!"
Izumi blushed a bit and laughed along with his mother. "Guilty as charged," he said, still caught up in the thrill of the new gaming console.
Iori playfully ruffled Izumi's hair and said, "Alright, my little gamer, let's not forget about the real world too. How about you take a break and we'll have some snacks?"
Izumi agreed, "Sounds good, Mom. I could use a snack." He saved his game, turned off the PlayStation 3, and joined his mother in the kitchen.
They enjoyed a relaxing afternoon together, snacking and chatting about various topics.
As the evening approached, they decided to watch a movie together. Iori prepared some popcorn, and they settled in the living room. The mother-son duo cherished these moments, making the most of their quality time together.
Both of them snuggled up on the sofa, ready to enjoy their movie night.
Izumi suggested, "How about [Spirited Away] or [Princess Mononoke] or something like that?"
Iori shook her head, "Nah, I've seen those plenty of times. Let's choose something different."
Izumi thought for a moment and proposed, "Then how about [The Girl Who Leapt Through Time]? It's a new movie, and we've got the DVD for it. I've heard it's been quite popular."
Iori agreed, "Alright then, let's see how this goes."
Izumi got up from the sofa and set up the DVD player. They settled in for a cozy movie night, eager to enjoy their choice together.
The mother and son were fully immersed in the movie, particularly in the character of Makoto.
"Wow, this girl is so funny," Iori commented with a chuckle.
Izumi nodded, enjoying the humor in the story. "Yeah, her speeding up the bicycle like that is hilarious."
Their amusement continued as they watched Makoto's escapades in the movie. "Oh, she doesn't know the answer to anything on the quiz," Iori pointed out.
Izumi laughed, "That's quite a terrible situation for her, isn't it?"
As the movie progressed, they found even more humor in Makoto's misadventures. "Oops, she got a 9 on the quiz," Izumi observed.
Iori couldn't help but giggle. "What's hilarious is that the teacher wrote 'try harder' on her test paper!"
The two shared a good laugh, thoroughly enjoying their time together as they watched "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time."
As they watched the movie, a scene about going on vacation caught their attention.
Iori began the conversation, "Come to think of it, we didn't go anywhere during the summer break."
Izumi tried to remember, "But didn't we go to the park?"
Iori clarified, "Oh, that was just a day picnic. I'm talking about a real vacation."
Izumi seemed intrigued, "Real vacation... what's that?"
Iori explained, "I'm talking about long vacations, like week-long trips. Maybe we can go to the beach next summer."
Izumi's eyes lit up with excitement, "That sounds awesome!" The idea of a beach vacation seemed to captivate him.
As they continued to watch the movie and the consequences of Makoto's time-leaping became apparent, they shared their thoughts.
Izumi remarked, "She sure is messing up the timeline."
Iori nodded, saying, "More like people's lives. She kinda ruined the guy's entire high school life."
They noticed the numbers associated with the time leaps, and Izumi pointed out, "90! The time leap has a number count, I guess."
Iori corrected, "Most likely. Oh, it's 9, not 90!"
Izumi chuckled, "Never would have thought the Chiaki guy would have come from a different time."
Iori agreed, "Right!"
They watched as Makoto began to realize the consequences of her actions, and Iori remarked, "Looks like Makoto finally knows how she was messing up everything." The movie was clearly having an impact on their perspective.
As they watched the movie's climax, they continued to share their observations.
Izumi commented, "And now she is depressed."
Iori agreed, "Well, anyone would be after all that happened to her."
Izumi added, "But it all happened because of herself, didn't it?"
Iori nodded, saying, "Should have seen it coming. Aunt Witch being in similar situations as Makoto."
Izumi mused, "She could time leap one more time, kinda expected that."
They watched as Makoto attempted to fix the consequences of her time-leaping, but Iori had her doubts, saying, "And here she goes fixing things, but I doubt Chiaki will be able to stay."
The movie came to an end with the farewell between Chiaki and Makoto, leaving them with a mix of emotions.
After watching "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time," Iori and Izumi sat there, reflecting on what the movie had taught them.
Iori spoke first, saying, "You know, it's funny how Makoto initially used her newfound power for trivial things, but then she realized the consequences of her actions and tried to make things right."
Izumi nodded, "Yeah, it's a reminder that even small actions can have a big impact on people's lives. We should be more considerate of the choices we make."
Iori continued, "And it's also about cherishing the moments we have. Time is precious, and we shouldn't take it for granted."
Izumi agreed, "Definitely. We should appreciate the time we have with our loved ones and make the most of it."
The movie had left them with a deeper appreciation for the value of time and the impact of their actions on others.
As they wrapped up the movie session, just as they were thinking of leaving the sofa, Naozumi's voice, Izumi's dad, came from the door. He asked, "So your movie session finally came to an end, huh? Was it fun?"
Iori replied, "Pretty good, not a tearjerker, though." They both chuckled, enjoying the light-hearted moment with Izumi's father.
Izumi sat up from the sofa and rushed to give his dad a warm hug. "Thanks for the PS3," he exclaimed with a grateful smile, showing his appreciation for the thoughtful gift.
Naozumi chuckled as he hugged his son back, "You're welcome, Izumi. I'm glad you liked it."
Iori joined in the conversation, "It was a nice surprise, and we watched a great movie too."
Naozumi smiled at his wife and son, feeling grateful for their company. "I'm glad to see both of you enjoying your time together. Family moments like this are precious."
As they shared a warm family moment, they knew that it was these simple, shared experiences that made their bonds stronger.
As Iori checked the time, she realized it was getting late. "Welp, it's pretty late, and I haven't made dinner yet," she hurried to the kitchen, ready to prepare a meal for the family.
But Naozumi stopped her from rushing to the kitchen, he smiled and said, "Don't worry about it, I've already prepared dinner for all of us."
Izumi and Iori exchanged surprised glances, and then both of them chimed in with gratitude, "Thank you, Dad." "Thanks Naozumi"
In a heartwarming moment, they each gave Naozumi a hug before sitting down at the table to enjoy the meal. During dinner, they engaged in various conversations about their day, the movie they had just watched, and other family matters. It was a warm and cozy evening shared by the three of them.
Each moment, cherished, formed the tapestry of their lives, a reminder to seize the moment.
[A/N- kinda unplanned chapter— had to watch the entire damn movie to write this chapter, well I had fun.]
