Zeras stood at the edges of the battle stage, yawning continuously.
He could see some old, burly Atlanteans appearing in the Colosseum, wanting to watch his first fight.
They were the so-called Atlantean soldiers.
The disappointment in their eyes at the sight of him was clear enough.
Zeras guessed it was probably because of his small size.
However, the Atlantean soldiers, disappointed as they were, were also confused.
They had seen Planck call up the bloodiest fighter amongst them, Roder, to help teach the challenger a lesson.
Now that the challenger was no more than a young teenager, all of this seemed like a little bit of overkill.
The door to the other end of the battle stage eventually opened, and a figure stepped out of the darkness.
It was a man clad in blue pants, leaving his upper body naked.
This naturally exposed his large belly, which rippled with every movement.
He held two tridents, and one of them was flung toward Zeras, who reached out his hand and grabbed the trident, dispersing all of its force without moving back an inch.
"Defend yourself... kid!"
Roder yelled, rushing toward Zeras, his burly figure not slowing him in the least.
A trident's throngs pierced his face as Zeras stepped to the side, easily dodging the attack.
Roder immediately slashed the trident horizontally, forcing Zeras to bend his back against the ground, the trident's throng weaving a few centimeters from his nose.
It seemed that increasing his perception was finally showing its edge.
"Is the only thing you can do is dodge... kiddo?"
Roder yelled as he started to pant.
The continuous swerving was draining some of his energy.
"Is the only thing you can do is swerve your belly around, old man?"
Zeras chortled back mercilessly, as the tempo of the Roder's trident's attack increased.
But while one might think he was taking the old man too lightly, Zeras was actually trying to watch how the man could move so quickly underwater and how he could swing his trident with so much force.
Zeras had never had any training on the Trident.
The only weapons he could use were the dagger and maybe the gun, but even with the latter, he had no accuracy.
His main weapon in battle was his speed.
But here, that was very limited because he didn't know how to swim like the Atlanteans.
The best place to learn was during a battle, so learning how to increase his speed was very important, and that was what he was doing.
His result came faster, as Roder noticed the boy moving around easier, his dodging becoming even more refined.
The Atlantean's soldiers had a strange look on their faces, as they noticed it was almost as if Zeras could predict where the attack was coming from before it even moved closer to him.
They didn't for a second doubt Roder's strength, but they were surprised to see him failing to land a single hit this entire time.
HYAAAAAAH!
Roder yelled as he slammed the trident forward, but he was shocked when it connected this time.
Looking at his trident, he saw Zeras blocking it with his own, standing there, staring at him with a grin.
"Don't you want me to fight back, old man? Then you got your wish."
Zeras pushed back Roder's trident with his own, then immediately slammed at his ribs.
A clang resonated as Roder blocked the attack, making it slip to the side before he stabbed towards Zera's neck.
Every collision sent a powerful ripple through the arena.
Zeras noticed something strange about Roder.
Anytime Roder swung his trident, the force accompanying it was double what should normally be possible.
It was as if a strange force accompanied every strike, increasing its might.
Both fighters went all out, putting everything into this fight, as Roder fought hard to deal with the boy as he was told to, while Zeras tried to deepen his understanding of the trident.
His trident pierced forward once again, but this time Zeras flung his trident upward instead.
Wrapping around his arm on Roder's trident, he used the approaching force to further drag Roder toward him.
Quickly moving behind the man, he wrapped his arm tightly around the man and kicked the back of his knee, causing Roder to fall into a kneeling position.
The trident he had thrown up dropped back down, and Roder looked up only to see the trident's throngs moving toward his eyes.
He immediately tried closing them, but he knew it was useless.
The trident could pierce through his brain from his eyes.
But after five seconds had passed, he didn't feel anything, making him open his eyes once again.
His eyelashes brushed lightly against the trident's prongs, showing just how dangerously close they were to impaling him, as the trident was held by Zeras, preventing it from truly killing him.
"I... I... Surrender..."
He said hurriedly, and Zeras slowly released his hold, heading toward the exit.
All the Atlantean soldiers stood there, mouth agape, unable to believe their eyes.
Roder was defeated!? By a kid, no less.
A News, too good to be true, quickly spread through Ligeris:
A New Atlantean Soldier had defeated one of the fiercest Atlantean Soldiers, and he was a boy under 18.
