And I have a feeling that Chris, who managed to kill the king without any of us Eternals noticing, is not simple at all. I hope it's just my imagination.' Anxious, Gilgamesh turned back to give orders to regroup the team. Once all the soldiers were in position, he immediately ordered everyone to move quickly to support Thena. However, in the thick fog, the general dared not let the soldiers charge too fast.
When Gilgamesh and his men arrived at the location where the few figures had appeared earlier, he realized that the tall figure was just a human-shaped plank deliberately placed in the fog...
Not far from this wooden plank, Thena's warhorse was frozen in place by icy blocks with traces of ice magic, but Thena herself was nowhere to be seen. Looking around, there was no sign of any enemies.
'It seems like we fell into the ambush set by that human... just as I expected, he's a cunning one...' Gilgamesh helplessly clenched his fists. Facing the dense fog before him, as a physical combatant rather than a spellcaster, he was unable to do anything.
'There's no way. It looks like Thena has fallen into the hands of that despicable human. It's too dangerous to go deeper. I can only hope she's unharmed...'
Gilgamesh sighed and ordered the army to turn back and retreat. He knew that planning to confront that mysterious man with just two Eternals was perhaps too naive. He decided to gather more of their kind as reinforcements.
But for now, all he could do was pray that Thena could hold on until the reinforcements arrived in the hands of that despicable and absurd man.
Though filled with unease, Gilgamesh believed in Thena, the proud Valkyrie of the Eternals. She would surely persevere... right?
