"Say that again?"
Yumi Stewart pressed her lips together, raised her eyes to look at Jackson Russo, and slowly lifted her hand, cautiously placing it on his shoulder.
Jackson's eyes slid to the corner, seeing her hand rest on his shoulder, he slightly raised an eyebrow but said nothing.
His eyes returned to her face, watching as she seemed a bit nervous looking at him.
Yumi licked her lips, hesitated for a long time, then softly spoke:
"So... you don't actually want to divorce me, do you?"
Jackson snorted, "Divorce you so you can go find Bernard Gray?"
Yumi tugged at her lips and then nodded, "Yeah, Bernard feels guilty towards me. Being with him, at least he'd treat me much better... After all, once divorced, I have to marry someone else anyway, and Bernard isn't bad in every aspect; it'd save me some trouble... cough cough..."
As she spoke, she felt the grip of the hands on her neck getting tighter, and by the end, she could barely speak.
