His question was calm and flat, but before she could answer, he caught her wrist and stuffed her into the car.
"What are you doing?"
Abigail Hemsworth frowned and asked him. Travis Miller started the car on his own, made a U-turn, and drove off.
Abigail grew anxious. "Where exactly are you taking me?"
"To settle the score."
As simple as ever. Abigail understood all too well, her brows and eyes pressed low, but what came out of her mouth were just two words: "Stop the car."
Travis acted as if he hadn't heard.
"I'm not going."
"So you'd rather wrong yourself, sulk, and then secretly put another mark against my name in your heart? I'm not siding with Salma. Even if I covered for her, it wasn't for her sake. My conscience is clear, but I still don't want you thinking there's something between me and her. Let's settle this cleanly, and don't wrong me."
Abigail drew in a breath. "I know, so just stop the car. I'm not going."
Travis didn't speak, but he still didn't stop.
