Chapter 173 - Chapter 21: Into the Storm: The Last Stands Begin

It was finally time to take action against the VulcanFire growing scheme. This is where they stop Starfania's father from causing the extinction of the dragons in Avalon. The mission she had been dreading since Lyam had announced their plan to infiltrate one of their camps. Before meeting Lyam at their designated location, they needed to make a quick stop at Katherine's shops to pick up Starfania hearts. After swiftly changing into their everyday clothes, Atlas and Starfania stepped out of their room. Aeron and Vi were already waiting, their bright smile radiating excitement. Starfania returned their enthusiasm with a grin of her own before turning to Aeron.

" So, what's the plan for Vi while we go on this mission? " Starfania asked.

" Lyam suggested leaving her with Maxmillian, " Aeron said, his voice a mix of anticipation and concern. " Maximilian's daughter trains young recruits in combat, and he agrees to watch over Vi. Lyam also promised to keep an eye on her. "

It was a relief to know she would be in expert hands, but doubt lingered in Starfania's mind. " Are you completely comfortable leaving Vi with someone we hardly know? "

Aeron sighed, clearly wrestling with the same uncertainty. " Honestly, I have my doubts. "

"It's a big risk," Aeron continued, rubbing the back of his neck. "But we need to focus on the mission. We can't afford to hesitate."

Starfania studied his expression, searching for signs of confidence or fear. "What do we really know about Maximilian? His reputation is excellent, but does that guarantee he'll keep her safe?"

Aeron shook his head slowly, as if weighing each word. "We can't know everything about him. But I trust Lyam's judgment. He wouldn't put us at risk."

"Trust is a hard thing to measure," Starfania replied, biting her lip. "Still, I don't want to keep Vi close if it means jeopardizing our chance at success."

"I agree," Aeron said firmly. "We have to take the plunge. Sometimes the toughest choices lead to the best outcomes."

Starfania nodded, but remained unconvinced.

"What if something goes wrong while we're away?" she wondered aloud. "Then we'll have to face it together. All we can do is plan, and then hope for the best,"

As they watched Violet play with Drogo and Atlas, they realized she was destined to leave her mark on Avalon. In that moment, they truly understood the importance of her presence in their lives, and they felt a deep sense of gratitude. Starfania could no longer stand by passively. The time had come to gather her courage and take action. It was crucial that she worked towards creating a better tomorrow, ensuring for a better place she held those dear. Starfania vowed that no matter what happens today, she vowed to fight for what she believes in. She turned to Aeron, her voice firm. " This is for us–and for Vi. To secure a better future. "

Prepared for whatever transformation lay ahead, they moved forward, reaching their destination and landing. Outside Emberforge Armory, Katherine was waiting for them.
