Chapter 75 - Dying Star

Here, I stand,

watching the bright stars like threats,

these threads are just part of life,

how close or far we are from the light.

.

At night, I stand and watch them,

they come and go --

like my mother,

I had released her.

I close the door she left ajar,

Her voice fades like a dying star.

.

There aren't roots that she can feed,

Her weeds remain,

Shadowed bane.

Soil cannot grow

petals and all that makes a flower whole.

.

I walk away and pray

"God, please don't have her take me away,

Long and far

Where it's just us."

.

I don't want to join the dying star,

Please God!

.

She's just another creation

That has betrayed the heavens —

Yet preaches the gospel,

And says she's honorable.

.

Beauty and beast became one,

now they fade beneath the sun.

.

I mourn a mother who never knew,

The warmth I craved,

the hands I drew,

if only she knew,

I just wanted a life so soft and bright,

not one poisoned for endless nights.

.

The dying star --- no longer just beauty,

cleverly her petals decay,

and start to gray.

.

Withered flowers,

yellow and thin,

now of death

and fallen skin.

.

A troubled mother's limp weeds ---

make the heavens madly shriek!

A poisoned seed

that became Beauty and the beast.

.

She is now a dying star,

her light has dimmed,

she spins and spins,

the angels sing sad hymns,

They've lost another human.

.

Beauty and beast had been fed,

now they sleep among the dead.

.

I made the toughest decision I could

And ended our soul contract for good.

.

I stood without her presence

In the very rooms

where a dying star had been groomed.

.

She feels like a myth,

one told by prophets;

this effigy of the stars,

transitions far ---

.

She no longer breathes the light,

she just exhales the fumes

of shadows and goats,

and tongues that speak low.

.

That's what happens when you're no longer a beautiful star,

just a beastly human that destroys its laws.

Tongues and saints are not the same,

dying stars are not the end game.
