The rise of the demon race within the Black Pegasus Chaos Realm took all of its citizens by surprise.
None of them saw it coming. In fact, most of them didn't even know what demons were in the first place. The ones who knew about them were their leaders—the ones who sat on the thrones of the Black Pegasus Union, and these people ignored their existence for the most part, which gave demons the chance to stage a comeback.
It's not that they weren't wary about accepting the demon race into their fold. The union knew who they were and what they could do. It's just that their miserable state upon arrival, and the aura of losers and general defeat, lowered the union's guard.
In their eyes, they weren't convinced that a few thousand demons could do anything worthwhile. Sure, the infernal energy they wield was dangerous because it could corrupt anything it touches, but with so few of them, it shouldn't have been possible for them to make huge advances without alarming the union first.
