After spending a significant amount of time with Ariel, Alicia eventually left, her footsteps fading into the distance. The room, once filled with quiet conversation, fell into an eerie silence. That is, until Beth quietly stepped inside.
"Are you sure you want to see them?" Her voice was soft but steady, breaking the stillness like a delicate whisper.
Ariel gave a firm nod, her expression calm but determined. "Yes, I want to see them," she replied. "I don't hold any grudge against them. I just need to know if Uncle Thomas really knows who my mother was."
Beth leaned against the doorframe, her eyes searching Ariel's face for any sign of hesitation. "What if he doesn't know? You've got to stay optimistic, Ariel."
Ariel's gaze remained steady, her voice quiet but resolute. "I know Beth, but he should know something, at least a little. I just need a clue—anything. I can't move forward until I do."
