Beside Waddell's spare shoe on the facility map, the teacher had drawn a little bed at the loading ramp. Gojaro held the paper flat. If that route held, the grandmother with the bad caster could keep her mattress all the way to the receiving room by Oscar's entrance. The inside route went through a stock doorway too narrow for most beds. Gojaro had moved her once already and wanted the drawing to be right.
Nine names on the teacher's list needed help moving. Carrying them would take most of the adults she used to feed the other thirty-four.
Waddell tapped the ramp with his pencil. "Look underneath the turn before you bring a bed through. This drawing has been wrong about the west side already."
The teacher passed Gojaro a piece of meal paper with the bed's width written on it. His right hand still had a tender patch where he had caught the return's loose wall arm. He folded the measurement along its longest edge, keeping it dry inside his cuff.
