Chapter Two
The cold wind blew her hair into a disheveled dance, her small face unusually pale, devoid of any color. A mocking yet poignant smile hung on her face, stirring tenderness in those who saw it. Arthur Baker felt guilty, "Aurelia, please don't be like this, okay?"
"Then may I ask, how should I be?"
"At that time, I really had no choice, and..."
With a loud slap, she gathered all her strength to break off Arthur Baker's explanation.
Aurelia's hand hurt, her fingertips were numb, and so was her heart. Whether it was due to the cold weather or her intense anger, her whole body was trembling, uncontrollably shaking, teeth chattering, voice hoarse and trembling, "You really had no choice, because lying has become your forte."
She gritted her teeth and said this before stepping away from him.
Arthur Baker remained standing in place for a long time. He didn't chase after her, knowing it would be futile no matter how much he said if he did catch up.
