Dark lines seemed to etch themselves on Maxwell Peary's forehead. Being ignored by his young wife felt utterly awful.
"Nia Mitchell, are you listening to me?"
Nia Mitchell was taken aback, looking at Maxwell Peary. Why does it feel like his expression changed again?
He was fine just now, and then suddenly...
Indeed, the CEO's moods change so quickly; she simply can't keep up. Trying to understand Maxwell Peary... it'll probably take a very, very long time.
"I am listening!"
Nia's spirits lifted, and she immediately nodded vigorously, her expression earnest.
"Never mind."
Maxwell Peary massaged his forehead. From the way she looked, she clearly hadn't been listening at all, and he didn't have the heart to expose her.
"Huh?"
She blinked, not quite understanding what Maxwell Peary meant.
"Go ahead and eat."
Maxwell Peary said wearily, feeling disheartened.
"Oh."
Nia Mitchell pouted and nodded her head.
So she continued to eat.
