Ethan Martinez noticed Gerry Peary's small reaction right away and quickly tried to comfort him.

"Your uncle has to discuss something with your mother. Can you sit here for a while, Gerry Peary?"
He coaxed Gerry Peary gently. No anger could be seen in his eyes.
"Okay."
Gerry Peary nodded obediently, grinning sweetly.
After soothing Gerry Peary, Ethan Martinez turned his head to look at Shirley Grant, who was standing to the side.
"Let's step outside for a moment."
Stepping out of the ward, Shirley Grant could no longer pretend to be strong. Looking as if she had lost all her strength, she leaned against the wall.
