Olivia Parker hung up the phone, grabbed her bag, went downstairs, and ordered two dishes at a nearby restaurant to take away. While waiting for the food, she stepped out of the restaurant and went to the pharmacy next door, where she bought two pregnancy test strips.
With the food from the restaurant in hand, she returned to Osbert Montgomery's ward.
Gently pushing the door open, she saw Kasper Edith sitting by the window, engrossed in the documents Leah sent him on his computer.
On the hospital bed, Osbert Montgomery lay with his head slightly turned, sleeping soundly.
Bringing over the lunch she held, she placed the food neatly on the table, then walked behind Kasper Edith, gently placing her hand on his shoulder as she spoke softly.
"Shall we have dinner first?"
"Sure, in a moment."
Kasper Edith turned towards her with a smile, then resumed focusing on his computer screen.
