Chapter 138 - 17-18

Chapter 17 I Have Acquired A Kitten

Sometimes, Izuku really overestimates his abilities. He's so used to writing notes about Heroes on the fly, and quickly. But what he didn't realize was that writing about one Hero at a time, and writing about multiples at once, has a lot of difference. In short, he couldn't complete his analysis on time, before school hours ended.

He had been writing through Kaminari's quirk analysis when the final bell rang, and all the students were packing up their bags, ready to leave.

"Oi, nerd, you coming?" Katsuki gruffed, still irritated about coming in third place.

"Oh um-" Izuku glanced at him, then at his notebook and then at the time before sighing helplessly and letting his head hit the desk. "I'm pathetic."

"'M aware." Katsuki replied. "What did you do this time?"

Izuku's reply ended up being muffled by the desk, and his notebook. That earned him another irritated huff from his friend.

"Whatever, I'm leaving, loser." He said before walking out in his usual stomping manner. Growling at Kirishima when the redhead accidentally bumped into him. But Kirishima, undeterred by the aggressiveness only lit up seeing the blond and started an one sided conversation. Kaminari joined in a few seconds later.

Ten minutes later the class had emptied, and Izuku still remained in his seat, marinating in his misery. He had already waved away Uraraka's enthusiastic offer to walk to the gate together, and gave a not so convincing thumbs up when Shinso raised his eyebrow at him. A few minutes later, the class door slid open once again. Izuku didn't need to look up to see who it was. The door opened, and yet no sound of footsteps followed it.

So far, he only knew of one person, apart from himself, who walked that quietly.

"What are you still doing here?" His Dad asked.

"Drowning in misery." Izuku answered.

A short silence and then Shouta mumbled, "You're spending way too much time with that overgrown chicken, and Hizashi."

Izuku huffed out a laugh. "I'm sorry."

"What for?"

"I couldn't finish the work you gave me." Izuku lifted his head, a pout on lips as he looked at his Dad dejectly. He pushed the notebooks he had been using for the analysis forward, "I only got a few done."

Shouta blinked, forehead furrowing slightly as he walked over to the desk. Izuku gnawed on the inside of his cheek seeing that. He looked down at his lap, fiddling with his fingers as his Dad skimmed through the work he had done.

He asked me to do one thing, and I failed.

Why am I this useless?

He heard a sigh, and then a hand ruffled his hair. Confused, he looked up at his Dad. "Huh?"

"I'm sorry, I should've worded it better. I didn't mean to pressurize you." He said.

"Why are you apologizing, it's my fault, I couldn't-"

"Kid, there are twenty students." Shouta interrupted, "Not even professionals can finish all their analysis in the time you have." He placed the notebooks down, "Honestly, I was just hoping for a short, one para, analysis." He paused and sighed once again. Then after glancing at his notebooks once again, he huffed a laugh, "It completely slipped my mind how detailed your analysis is."

Izuku pursed his lips, "But what am I supposed to do now? I don't have the recordings from the match. And I still have…" he pointed to the books, "12 analyses left." He glanced at the most recent notebook, "Well, 12 and a half."

He frowned and continued, "Also," he looked up, "I have serious questions about how some of the costumes got approved. And you should look into Kaminari's records."

His Dad's face grew serious, "What's wrong?"

"Well, starting with the most outrageous one: Hagakure's. I only assumed it at first, but I asked her later on, and my guess was right." He gave a deadpan look, "Her hero costume consists of just gloves, and boots."

"You mean," Izuku saw his Dad's left eye twitch— Oh, he's mad — and pinch the bridge of his nose, letting out a strained sighed, "During hero training, she… essentially stays naked."

Izuku nodded, "She said she didn't have any design in mind, so she just gave her quirk description and that's what she got."

He's sure he just heard his Dad cuss. "Ah! Bad word! You gotta pay up."

Shouta rolled his eyes and dragged a chair to the front of his desk and sat down, "Fine. Fine. Anything else that requires immediate attention?"

"Oh yeah, Yaoyorozu's costume." Izuku replied, "Remember Aunt Nemmi's costume when she first started out?"

His Dad frowned, "Why do you know about that?"

"Uh…. I did an analysis on her and that came up…"

His Dad let out a tired sigh, "Go on."

"Right, so um, Yaoyorozu's costume is basically like that, but with like…" He waved his hand in a so-so motion, "5% more cover. Apart from the very important fact that Yaoyorozu is clearly uncomfortable in it, it gives zero protection. At least Aunt Nemmi's suit was made of bulletproof and fireproof material. I mean, I understand because of Yaoyorozu's quirks, she needs to have easy access to her skin, but her costume is just ridiculous. And she said, she too, just gave a description for her quirk, and requirements."

His Dad looked really, really exhausted, and angry.

"Oh and um, Kaminari." Izuku picked up the notebook where he had been writing about it, "I couldn't get into too much detail 'cause class was over, but the main problem was his control over it. Apparently, if he uses his quirk over a certain wattage limit, he…" Izuku slumped his shoulders, "Well in his words, he goes dumb."

His Dad blinked. Izuku thought it was hilarious how a single action showcased so many emotions at once. "Elaborate."

"Exceeding his wattage limit, makes him short circuit. I saw the footage. He used a high voltage attack once, and stayed out of commission for 15 minutes. There is no way it won't lead to serious permanent damage to his brain in future. He has minimal to zero control over his quirk. But," He tilted his head as he recalled his conversation with him, "It's not his fault. His counselor never told him about it."

"And his parents?" Shouta asked, raising his eyebrow slightly.

"Both his parents work overseas."

His Dad's eyebrows shot up, "He lives alone?"

"Oh no, no, no," Izuku quickly replied, realizing his mistake, "No, he lives with his grandparents. But he can't ask them for help either. They are his dad's parents, and he said his Dad's side doesn't have an electricity based quirk. Hegot his quirk genes from his mom. But, he can't ask for her help either. 'Cause her quirk is really different from his. His mother's quirk is attracting electricity towards herself, and then redirecting it. Kaminari's quirk discharges electricity." He sighed, and pushed the notebook towards his dad, "He's actually pretty quick at learning things. I just explained it to him once, and he can create a small amount of discharge between his fingers."

"...how did you get so much information in a single day?" Shouta asked with slightly wide eyes.

"He's talkative." Izuku answered with an amused smile. "And I checked his student record."

Shouta looked even more baffled, "Nedzu let you see the student records?"

"I asked politely." Izuku replied with a cheeky smile, "And I said please as well."

Shouta didn't smile, but he did look amused, "Alright, smartass, pack up your bags."

"But what about the analysis?" Izuku asked, picking up his notebooks.

"Mhmm, I'll bring a copy of the recording with me." Shouta replied, "You can do it later on at home if you want."

"'Kay," Izuku picked up his bag, "Are you going to get the copy from Principal Nedzu, or All Might?"

"All Might."

"Can I come?"

"You literally saw him an hour ago."

"I know."

Shouta stared. Izuki stared back. His Dad sighed, "Fine."

Izuku beamed, "Thanks!"

***

"What did you pack in your bag?" Shouta asked.

"An extra set of clothes, my notebooks and pencil and…" Izuku trailed away, "Those are the major ones, I don't remember what else is in there."

"Why are you taking an extra set of clothes?"

"I still have 5 kilometers of running left." Izuku replied, pointing to the screen in front of his head. Though for his Dad it was just empty space. Both of their apartments were slowly becoming empty. Most of the stuff was packed up in boxes.

The shift wasn't something Izuku was made aware of until high school started. Not like Izuku minded either. Apparently the new location would be much closer to UA, and both Shouta's and his mom's work place. But he had been curious as to why they were shifting so suddenly.

Apparently his Mom wanted to move out a long time ago, but couldn't bring it up in a conversation. "This place isn't big enough for all of us, honey." She explained. Which, yeah, Izuku agreed with. Because of his quirk skill Disassemble and Assemble, he had been working with tons of scraps material, and he had long run out of space to stuff them into. He'd kept them in Shouta's house, but then Dabi started living with them.

And Shouta's reason was, "Maybe, I'm being paranoid, but the crime ground's shifting. And it's too close to this place, for my liking."

Izuku didn't mind the move. It's just, it would've been better, if he had more time, then he could go through hsi scrap materials to see if there was something useful that he could bring with him.

"Remember to notify either me or your mom if you can't finish the quota." Shouta reminded, holding the door open as Izuku skipped out.

"Got it."

"Ah, there's my favorite little bird!" A familiar voice cheered. Izuku felt a wide grin spread on his face as he turned around and was greeted by the sight of the Number Three Hero, arms and wings spread apart for a hug. He wasn't wearing his usual Hero costume, but a jacket similar to his costume, only red, and black. A black tank top underneath, and red pants to match his jacket.

"Hawks!" Izuku squealed, rushing at him, and practically slamming into the Hero.

Hawks huffed out a laugh, wrapped his arms and wings around him. "Love the energy." He said, sounding all too pleased. Izuku noticed him eyeing the door to his Dad's apartment, and said with a cheeky grin, "Dabi's not here."

The Number Three Hero turned an amazing shade of red, and spluttered, "What- I- I wasn't. I mean. I wasn't thinking about- I-"

"Just stop." Shouta sighed, "I don't get paid to deal with second hand embarrassment."

Hawks fluttered his wings, and pouted. "Shaddup."

"Uh-huh." Shouta hummed non committedly, locking the door, "At latest, we'll be back by 8. You're invited for dinner. We're ordering Thai."

"Awesome."

"And," Shouta turned around, giving a stern glare to the two of them, "Do not buy Izuku ice-cream before dinner no matter how cute his puppy eyes are."

Hawks titled his head, a teasing grin forming on his face, "Speaking from experience?"

"Shut." Shouta shot back.

Hawks snickered.

"How are we going to your house?" Izuku asked curiously. "You don't have a car."

"Don't need one." Hawks proudly pointed to his wings, "Hawks special service for my dear little bird."

Izuku gasped and then frowned, "What if I'm too heavy?"

Shouta huffed, "If he finds you heavy, he should be embarrassed."

"Don't worry buddy," Hawks pointed at his biceps, "Your big brother gotchu."

"Good." Shouta replied before Izuku could, "Now scram."

***

Izuku's never flown before. But he had jumped from high rise buildings. The feeling of free falling, gravity tugging you down, the wind whistling against your ears. He had never flown before, but he assumed flying to feel somewhat like that. But right now, as he gripped tighter onto Hawks, while the Hero practically tore through the sky, he realized he was so wrong. This was nothing like free falling, and he knew the moment he touched the ground, he was going to miss this feeling right away.

"I'm so jealous." Izuku mumbled, knowing Hawks could get to fly whenever he wanted, but he couldn't. He didn't need to see to know Hawks was smirking, and he could feel him laugh.

"If you don't tell your Dad, I'll sneak you free rides every now and then." Hawks replied.

Izuku hummed, "I'll send you pics of Dabi." He hid a grin into the Hero's jacket as the Winged Hero fumbled in his flight. He wasn't scared as Hawks momentarily lost control, before quickly flapping his wings to stabilize himself.

"...Cute ones, or hot ones?" Hawks asked after a second.

"Depends, how many free rides do I get?" Izuku asked in response.

"How many do you want?"

"Both cute, and hot ones then." Izuku replied, "I'll sneak in some pics of him sleeping as well, if I feel generous."

"Why thank you, my kind sir."

Izuku laughed. Then, he squealed when Hawks swooped down at rapid speed.

"When did you buy this house?" Izuku asked as they landed onto the roof of Hawks' apartment. It was a loft style condo on the second highest floor. And everything inside screamed Hawks. Starting from the unreasonably high ceilings providing more than enough space for Hawks to fly around. Minimum furniture, and seats specialized for someone with wings. Wooden bars hung from the ceilings, most likely used by the Number Three Hero to perch upon whenever he felt like it. A hanging staircase led up to the second floor.

One side of the place was entirely windows. From the ceiling down to the floor. And it gave a breathtaking view of the city skyline.

"Mhm… around six months ago?" Hawks replied, tossing the house keys to somewhere Izuku couldn't quite see.

"Hey, can I live here?" Izuku asked, pressing his forehead against the window to get a look at the roads down below. He heard a snort, and then, 'sure, buddy.' from behind him.

When he turned around, he saw Hawks plopping down on one of the seats, with low back rest. "So, whatcha wanna do?"

Izuku eyed the huge TV, and the gaming console attached to it. I think we made the Number Three Hero a game addict.

"How about a few rounds of Apex Heroes?" Izuku proposed, "Winner gets to choose snacks' order."

Hawks grinned, "Aigh little bird." He hopped up, "I've been polishing my game, and I'm about to beat your ass."

Izuku snorted, "Bet."

***

"How… How do you win every single match!" Hawks all but screeched. One loss away from tossing the entire set up out of the window, along with the TV.

Izuku giggled, face red, and tears pooling in his eyes as he clutched his aching stomach.

"It's your quirk, isn't it?" Hawks demanded, poking him with the controller, "That's how you win every match."

Izuku laughed even more and shook his head. Analytical Mind doesn't work like that. That would make it omnipotent. Instead, Analytical Mind works more like a bookmark. For any given situation, Analytical Mind puts all the required information on the forefront of his mind so that he can recall it in a split second. It also manipulates his thinking to a certain degree, with the help of Concentration, to make him focus on the correct group of information. That aside, he has to make the connections between the hints by himself. For playing video games, it does provide him with the patterns, and hints to clear a level, but in the end, if Izuku doesn't realize the hints, it won't work.

"Then how?" Hawks asked desperately.

Izuku took in a few deep breaths to calm his laughter. He wiped away the tears from around the corner of his eyes, and pushed him up slightly. Then, he looked at Hawks in the end, and said, "I'm just that good."

A pillow hit his face, and bounced innocently on the floor. Izuku felt back once again, giggling and laughing.

Izuku heard him mutter about how unfair it was, and how he was definitely cheating someone and he will find out the truth eventually and once he does, it's over for Izuku.

"Ahhh, my stomach hurts." Izuku breathed out, finally calming down entirely from his laughing fit and sprawled on the floor like a starfish. He saw Hawks stand up, and stomp away to the kitchen. He took out a bottle of fruit juice before flying out to the second floor, all the while pointedly looking away from Izuku's direction.

Izuku giggled a little more before sobering up, and checking the time. He gasped when he realized it was already 6 in the evening.

"Hawks," Izuku called, checking his Daily Tasks, "I need to head out."

Hawks popped his head out from over the glass handrail. Izuku noticed that all the glass dividers, windows, and panels in the window were slightly tinted. He had an inkling of doubt that it was like that because otherwise Hawks would run straight into them. Hawks didn't know, but Izuku had once caught him walking straight into the glass sliding door at his Dad's house and then pretend like it didn't happen. He was lucky it was just him who saw it.

 "Where?" He asked.

"Running."

"Do you have to? Can't you take a break today?"

"Erm… I have this daily quote of exercises I need to finish. And I put emphasis on need. Like heavy, heavy emphasis because I absolutely need to complete the quote before midnight."

"That's a tad bit dramatic, don'tcha think?" Hawks replied, amused.

Izuku solemnly shook his head, "No, no, no, I'm not being dramatic. You can ask my Dad. I'll put off dying for another, if I haven't finished my quota." He seriously would. He still has an extra life left. So if he dies, he would only come back to life, most likely right before midnight so that he would have no time left to complete his Daily Tasks. And Izuku did not want to come back to life just to be chased by wild animals.

"Why do you sound so believable?" Hawks mumbled, flying down. "Alright, how much running to have left?"

"5 kilometers," Izuku replied. He simply did not have enough time in the morning to run all 10 kilometers. And he knew, one of these days, it was going to come back and bite his ass.

"Jeez, how much do you run everyday?"

"10 kilometers." Izuku deadpanned. Although the other as per his assumptions, the amount of exercises would stay the same until he got better control over One For All. Because using it to punch or kick, did cause throbbing pain.

"I'll tag along." Hawks said, wearing his shoes.

Izuku grinned, "If you get left behind, I won't wait for you."

"Oh please," Hawks playfully rolled his eyes, "As if."

"Bet?"

***

"Yer a nuisance." Hawks grumbled, catching up to him. Izuku snickered as the Number Three Hero puffed and panted. They couldn't start running from Hawks' house, because it was close to one of the populated districts, and they didn't want to be flocked by fans or reporters. So, Hawks had to fly him to a less populated part before they could start running.

Hawks was fast, even on his legs, no doubt about that, but he didn't have the stamina to maintain his speed all the way. Izuku easily overtook him during the last kilometer.

"Alright, let's race on our way back. You can use your wings." Izuku offered.

Immediately Hawks straightened up, a smirk stretching on his face, "Alright. Winner gets to pick the dessert."

"Okay." Izuku agreed. The way back would be almost a straight road with a few turns here and there. That meant, Izuku could use Sprint without much problem. He checked Hawks' profile to see where his speed stats were.

Hmmm

Should I use Fire Breathing as well?

"Alright, ready?" Hawks started, flying up to an electric pole, and perching himself up there. Izuku quickly got in life, getting in position right next to it.

"Set."

[One For All in effect!]

[Fire Breathing is in effect!]

[Sprint is in effect!]

"Go!" They chorused, before bolting off.

***

Hawks had a smug grin on his face as he flew down, wings flapping proudly behind him. He won by a second. As soon as the Hero's feet touched the ground, he bowed down dramatically, all complete with one hand in front of him, the other behind him, and wings spread out to their complete wing span.

"And the victor is me!" He declared.

Izuku smiled and clapped, "Woohoo! Amazing performance! Magnificent!"

Hawks grinned even more, "Alright, let's head back."

It was already dark in the evening, so they didn't bother flying back home. Instead, they walked back with Hawks pushing him away from every ice-cream shop they came across.

"Did you pick out your elective subjects?" Hawks asked suddenly.

Izuku, slightly surprised by the random topic, took a second before answering, "I picked two: Specialized Heroics and well… the second one I'm not sure what to call it because I'm the only student."

"Huh?" Hawks looked at him curiously. "How come?"

"Um… My other elective is essentially private classes with Nedzu."

Hawks looked pale, "Holy shit."

"Why does everyone give the same reaction?" Izuku said, confused because his Dad, Hizashi and Nemuri all gave the exact same reaction, "He's not that bad. It's kind of fun."

"Wha-What does he teach you?"

"A lot of things." Izuku answered, "Coding, information gathering, making analysis."

"So… cyberespionage, counter-espionage,intelligence gathering, and analysis making." Hawks said flatly.

Izuku wrinkled his nose, "He said we'll delve into espionage from the second month."

"Great." Hawks huffed.

" Meow~ "

Izuku stopped walking when he heard the soft, frail meow.

"What's wrong?" Hawks asked.

"I think I heard a cat." Izuku replied, frowning slightly as he tried to focus on the sound of the cat once more.

" Meow ."

"It's in that box." Izuku said, pointing to a carbox lying in front of an alley. He jogged over, and crouched down in front of him. He could feel the cat inside of it. Moving, and breathing. Slowly, he opened the flaps so as to not scare the animal. Inside of a cardboard, on top of a poorly made bed, lay a tiny kitten furry white kitten. Izuku quickly realized what was wrong as the kitten kept whipping his head around in every direction, without actually looking at him. The little feline was abandoned because it was blind.

"Hey there buddy." Izuku cooed softly. The kitten looked up at him with milky black eyes. "Hi."

"What did you find?" Hawks asked, walking up to behind him. Izuku heard him gasp softly, and crouch next to him. "Oh it's a baby."

Izuku fished out his phone from his pocket, and opened the messaging app. The decision was already made. Now he just had to convince his Mom and Shouta.

Starting with Shouta.

Zuku: Dad, I need your permission for something.

Dad: Nothing illegal.

Zuku: No, no, this is very legal.

Dad: Okay, what is it?

"Hawks, quick take a picture of me with the cat." Izuku said, tossing his phone to the hero, before gently picking up the kitten in his embrace. He used one hand to hold the feline, and the other to mess up his hair a bit and make it look fufflier. Then, he put on his best puppy eyes, and waited for the camera to click.

"...huh, so this is what he meant." Hawks mumbled. He held up the phone and clicked a few pictures. "Why are we clicking pictures of you with the cat though?"

"So that Dad has no room to say no." Izuku replying, taking the phone back and quickly selecting the picture he thought was the best and most effective before sending it to his Dad.

Zuku: Dad, can I please bring this baby with me? [attached image.jpg]

Dad is typing…

Dad: …make sure to take the kitten to the vet first.

Zuku : YOU'RE THE BEST! THANKS! BYE LOVE YOU!

Dad : Yeah, yeah, love you too.

Izuku grinned and put his phone away, "Great Dad said yes, but we need to take the kitten to the vet first."

"Nice." Hawks grinned, "I know just the place!"

Chapter 18 Special Heroics!

Izuku ran out of his room, rushing to get ready for his school. On his way, he stopped to crouch down and pet Coffee, and MilkyWay. Izuku named the kitten, the new addition to their family, MilkyWay because of the way his eyes mimicked the said galaxy. And also because, later on that day, Izuku found out that the kitten really liked looking at the night sky despite being blind.

Once Coffee let out a satisfied meow, she resumed grooming her new baby brother. The American Shorthair feline immediately attached herself to the kitten. Fussing and meowing all over him. He grinned, giving a gentle tap to both their heads, before getting up and running to the living room. The table and chairs had already been moved so they were using the kitchen counter these days. The place, without the dining table, looked weird.

"Slow done, honey, you'll choke like that." His mother chuckled seeing him wolf down his omurice.

"'M wate!" Izuku mumbled out.

In that moment, the front door burst open, and two heavy, uneven footsteps stumbled in. Izuku looked up from his bowl to find two very messy haired Dabi, and Hawks walked in.

"Morning, princess." Dabi mumbled, plopping face first into the couch.

"I'm late." Hawks said, looking around awkwardly, "Um, would it be alright-"

"Oh, honey, you don't have to ask. I already made some breakfast for you." His mother said, waving her hand dismissively. "I'm sorry though, we don't have much right now so I could only make omurice."

Dabi raised his head, and declared, "Her omurice is fucking delicious."

" Dabi ." His mom chided.

"Sorry." Dabi mumbled, burying his face back into the couch. He said something that Izuku assumed was, 'I'll pay up later on.'

"Mom, make sure he pays." Izuku said, giving a stink eye in Dabi's direction.

Hawks plopped down on the seat next to him, mumbling a tired thank you as his mother passed his plate of omurice towards him. He clapped his hands together, mumbling a quiet 'thank you for the food' before he started eating.

"Dabi, stop being lazy and get up." Inko scolded.

"Yeah, Dabi, get up. " Izuku teased, finished his breakfast and got up.

"Zip it, tiny."

"Where's Aizawa?" Hawks asked.

"He left early. 'Said they had a staff meeting or something."

Hawks froze, "A what?"

Izuku rushed back to his room, and shouted, "Staff meeting!"

"Fuck." He heard him curse. Immediately Izuku popped his head out of his room.

"Ah-ha!" Izuku pointed, at the same time as Dabi, "Bad word. Pay up."

"Aww, dang it. How much?" Hawks grumbled, already finished with his breakfast somehow.

"100." Dabi answered while Izuku picked up his bag from his room.

"Here." Hawks put the money on the corner, "I'm sorry, I got to run, I'm really late."

Izuku heard him rush to the genkan, while he was wearing his shoes. "Why are you in such a rush?"

"When did your Dad leave?" He asked instead.

"Um, like 10 minutes ago?"

Hawks stuffed his feet into his boots. He stood up and narrowed his eyes, then rolling his tongue across his cheek, he mumbled "'Kay, I can manage it."

Izuku watched him run out. "Manage what?" He asked, but Hawks already took from the balcony. "Why is he in a rush?" He gasped when he realized something, "Aww man, I could've asked for a ride." He checked the time, "Shit, I gotta run, or I'll miss my train."

***

Izuku barely managed to run into his classroom before the bell rang. His Dad did not look torn between amused and impressed. How he managed to convey those emotions at once was beyond Izuku. He learned against the wall, huffing and panting. He couldn't even use an excuse. His Dad knew far too well the reason he was late was because he overslept.

"Go to your seat." He said, nodding his head towards the only empty seat.

Izuku huffed and nodded before dragging himself to his desk and slumping down. He didn't bother putting away his bag, and plopped his face against it. He spent a good two to three minutes just to catch his breath, and calm down his racing heart.

"Izuku Midoriya." He heard his dad roll call.

"Present." He whipped his head up.

Once his Dad had taken everyone's attendance, he announced. "Alright class, today for your first period, I'll be present along with Midnight. I've asked someone I know to analyze your performance from yesterday." He held up a stack of paper, "This is the printout of it. The analysis will include your shortcomings, and your strong points. How you can improve, or how to better manage your quirk in general. Also, since you've already had a taste of training with your costume, if there is any problem with it, you can discuss it with me. Girls, you can discuss your costume's shortcomings with Midnight. There are a few students whose costumes require compulsory changes. Those students will find a separate section in this analysis for it."

At that moment the bell rang, and the door slid open with a slam. Izuku watched as Nemuri strutted into the room with a smirk on her face, and swaying her hips side to side.

"Morning, little ducklings!" She chirped, resting on hand against the table and leaning against it. She looked at Shouta and grinned like a cat. But, his Dad moved away before she could try anything, and walked to each desk while handing out the printouts.

Izuku knew that the others would be getting the reports he had made, but he had no idea who made the one for him . It was most likely his Dad since he was the only person who knew fully about his quirk.

Huh. I just realized I never told All Might all about my quirk…

"Calm down." He heard his Dad say as he placed the sheet on his table, and moved one to the ones in front of him. Izuku quickly scooped it up and started reading it.

The first point was about him focusing a lot more on hand to hand combat. Izuku wasn't surprised. His Dad did keep on asking him to focus on non-quirk based combat. 'Not always will your quirk be compatible with the villain. So, you need to know how to kick their ass without one.' His Dad would say. And Izuku wholeheartedly agreed with it. Especially after the Sludge Villain incident. Izuku is more likely to give up on being a hero than use 'our quirks weren't compatible' as an excuse. There were a few tips to improve his fighting as well.

Second point was about picking up a weapon since skills weren't long-ranged. Not yet at least. And Disassemble and Assemble, didn't quite count as an AOE or long range skill. The only long range skills he had were sub-skills for Fire-Breathing— the First, and Third Form. And both of them required a medium for it to be used as a long range skill. Otherwise, it's just a flashier version of Second Form, or plain breathing techniques.

Apart from those two points, there wasn't anything else. So, Izuku put down his sheet and looked around curiously. He saw Katsuki look around the room, before leaning over to Jirou's desk.

"Oi, earphones, gimme your sheet." He grumbled.

Jirou looked at him with a confused frown, "Why?"

"I gotta see something." Katsuki grumbled.

Izuku noticed that ever since the group mission, Katsuki's been acting civil with his team members. Well, at least with Jirou and Kirishima.

"Don't burn it." Jirou warned before handing over her sheet.

Izuku watched curiously as Katsuki read her sheet before whipping his head around and glaring at him. Izuku instinctively leaned away as Katsuki leaned towards him.

"Oi, Zuku, the analyst person that hobo was talking about wasn't you?" Katsuki inquired, "You made these analyses, didn't you?"

"Huh? Kacchan I don't-"

Katsuki interrupted him by slamming his fist over his desk. "I'm not fucking stupid you damned nerd. I know what your analysis looks like."

Izuku glanced at his Dad who unhelpfully shrugged at him. Not my problem.

Wow Dad. Thank you so much for nothing.

His Dad narrowed his eyes at him like he could read his mind. Izuku quickly checked to make sure he wasn't using his Telempathic skill. Then, he looked back at Katsuki, glaring at him.

"Um…" He looked around the class and saw everyone whispering among themselves. Most likely talking about him. Of course they knew it was his analysis now. Not like Katsuki ever learned how to be quiet.

"Yes," He sighed in defeat, "It was me."

"Alright, to explain what the fuck is this supposed to mean." He demanded, slamming his sheet on Izuku's desk.

"Kacchan, stop doing that." Izuku explained. Even if these desks were of higher quality than the ones in Aldera, they still won't be able to handle the constant abuse from Katsuki. And really didn't want his desk to break.

"Fuck off." Katsuki spat, "Explain this to me first, you damned nerd."

Izuku frowned at his friend, before rolling his eyes and leaning forward. He didn't need to look, he remembered his analysis on Katsuki's fight anyways. But there was a chance, his Dad would have added something later on, because he did know Katsuki personally afterall.

Personality aside, Izuku doesn't think there is much to point about Katsuki's performance. Maybe work on lowering the amount of property damage. That was his report. That, and—

-Predictable while fighting.

"Um…" Izuku looked up, "Which part do you want me to explain?"

"The fuck do you mean I'm predictable." Katsuki growled.

"Oh." Izuku curved his lips in an 'o' shape. "Um… but Kacchan, you are. If it wasn't for your explosions, I could fight you blindfolded because I know how you're going to fight. You always use the same sequence while fighting. Right hook. Left kick. Knee to the stomach. And if your attacks don't land, you jump back to look for more openings. If you don't fight any openings, you attack with your palm explosions. If you still can land an attack, you resort to using the…" He mimicked Katsuki's move with his hand, "I don't know what you call it. I don't think you gave it a name."

Katsuki glared even harder at him. "I don't do that." He paused and looked at Shouta. Shouta stared at him wordlessly. That seemed to be enough of an answer for Katsuki as he turned back around.

"Don't think you're better than me just because of this, Zuku. I'll fucking strangle you." He grumbled.

Izuku grinned sweetly, "I won't Kacchan! Don't worry."

"Fuck off."

"Didja really make these?" Sero asked with an awed look.

"Yeah." Izuku said, rubbing his neck out of embarrassment. He knew his analysis quality wasn't that good so he hoped his classmates wouldn't mind.

"This is some god-level shit right here." Shinso muttered from behind him.

Izuku whipped his head around, surprised. "Huh?"

"I'm not kidding." Shinso stared at his sheets, "This is better than what my jackass quirk counselor gave me."

"Man, this is amazing!" Sero said.

"This is so amazing Midoriya!" Kirishima said from the other side of the room. All bright eyes and wide grin.

It's really not that amazing, guys.

"Sero's right." Yaoyorozu spoke up, leaning to her side, "It's precise and to the point. And it's easy to understand."

Izuku felt his cheek heat up as he blushed. He ducked his head and scratched his cheek while looking away. "It's-It's really nothing special."

"Plus, it's encouraging. " Shinso muttered. Izuku looked at him and frowned. Analysis was made to help a person improve with their quirk. All analyses were supposed to be encouraging.

He opened up his telempathic quirk, ignoring Shinso's, Sero's and Yaoyorozu's curious look. He looked at his Dad.

Dad.

His Dad turned his tired gaze at him.'Yeah?'

Look into Shinso's quirk counselor as well.

He heard his Dad sigh mentally and swallowed a giggle. The sigh sounded funnier than it should be.

'Those people have one job. How do they mess up so badly at it?'

'...'

'I'm asking Nedzu for a raise'

With that, Izuku closed the connection and turned back to the three.

"What was that?" Sero asked.

Izuku blinked. "What was what?"

"That eye conversation you just had with Sensei." Sero asked at the same time Shinso questioned, "That hand wiggling you just did."

"What?"

"You know." Shinso said, drawing ambiguous shapes in the air. Okay, I did not do that.

"Yeah that too." Sero said, pointing towards Shinso.

"Um… it's my quirk." Izuku answered, unsure how to explain it properly without giving away too much information.

"You did make similar hand movements during the Quirk Apprehension Test while you were building the motor glider. Was it something related to that?" Yaoyorozu asked.

Izuku was impressed at her observational skill and nodded, "Yeah!"

Well not exactly, but she wasn't entirely wrong either so…

"What is it called?" Sero asked.

"Um, I call it System Synthesis." Now that Izuku thought about it. His given quirk name did fit perfectly for Disassembly and Assemble skill. But that wasn't' quite the reason why he named it System Synthesis.

He named it so because his 'System' used several different skills to build one singular quirk. It synthesized the quirk from other quirks.

"Mhmm, it's an interesting quirk. Quite similar to mine." Yaoyorozu mumbled.

"Midoriya." A deep voice called. Izuku flinched slightly and turned to its owner. Todoroki looked at him with an icy-cold glare. "How did you know I use fire as well?"

"Uh…" Izuku wracked his mind for an excuse, but Shinso came for help.

"His quirk tells him about the others' quirk as well."

Todoroki stared at him and nodded. "I see." And with that, he turned his attention away from Izuku.

What was that?

Before anyone else could say anything else, Nemuri drew everyone's attention by clapping her hand, and said, "Alright everyone! It's time to focus on your costumes!"

The bell rang, and Izuku felt his heartbeat rise up once again out of excitement. It was time for his second elective class and he was eager to find out what it would be. He had checked the syllabus for the elective. For the first month, all the students in elective would rotate between different types of Rescue Heroics, Underground Heroics, and other fields that didn't particularly fall into one specific category. It was a new addition to UA's Heroics syllabus that was added this very year. It wasn't yet publicly announced and Izuku assumed it was because they were still testing the efficiency of it.

Izuku recalled that during one of his meetings with Nedzu, the Principal and somehow roped him into talking about Heroics. And of course, even if Izuku knew the Principal was baiting him, he willingly took the bait. He had so many long essays about each and every type of Heroics, and Nedzu was willing to listen to all of them.

Heroics isn't just about fighting big, bad villains. There is a lot of behind the scenes work involved. (Excluding the paperwork, of course.) There are matters involving territory between the heroes, priority of cases, and of course the degree of danger involved in the cases. Heroes in the top 100, usually let the rookie heroes take care of the smaller villains. In a country where there are so many heroes, dividing the work is important. If the bigshot heroes keep on tackling every big villain, then the new heroes won't get a chance to shine. But at the same time, to stand aside just because a villain is below their pay grade is wrong. If there was no around to apprehend the villains, they should step in.

But that was mostly the LimeLights Heroics, and Twilight Heroics.

The Underground Hero organization was far more complex. Underground Heroics no longer referred to heroics happening in the shadows. It has become an umbrella term of sorts that includes a lot of different fields. His Dad didn't explain it to him in too much detail but Izuku spent enough time on the internet to get a general idea.

The Underground villain community worked differently than the Aboveground villain community. (Yes, there was a community for villainy as well.) Unlike LimeLight Heroics that were just about heroes and villains, the Underground Heroics included a lot of facts that fell into a gray region. Where LimelIght heroics considered vigilantism completely illegal, the Underground Hero community tended to coexist with them. As long as the vigilante didn't outright kill anyone, they let them be. They often worked as an important source of information because of their position.

Also, there were several neutral territories. Informants who were willing to sell information to anyone as long as they paid their fees. (It wasn't always money. In a world dark and shifty like the Underground, things like security mattered a lot.) Most Healer Heroes worked in the Limelight. Where there was fame, and popularity. Very rarely did anyone with healing quirks decide to step into the Underground world. His Dad had explained how Healers were considered entirely untouchable in the Underground world. Nobody messed with them, heroes and villains alike. Because they both knew how hard it was to get proper health care in their field of work.

Then, there were also double agents, spies, and moles. People who have ambiguous morals. Someone had to collect the information about all the drug rings, trafficking circles, illegal entry of items, and people alike.

It's vast. It's complex. And overlooked.

There are also Rescue Heroes that people tend to ignore, and Izuku had no idea why. Like, they are ones who help you when there are natural disasters? They are ones to provide safety and first-aid when the LimeLight heroes are engaged in big battles. Evacuating civilians, setting up parameters, and reducing damage is also very important.

Then there was Support Heroics as well. It included both people who created Support Items, or people who provided support other heroes during big fights.

No, Izuku didn't feel petty because Nedzu was a Support Hero as well, and people tend to forget that. Nuh-uh.

UA was finally providing opportunities for students who didn't want to become LimeLight Heroes. Not everyone can. And not everyone wants to. Izuku would never say it out loud because he was too scared to, but while UA boasted about providing the best education for Heroics, it sure wasn't that inclusive. At least before. Things seemed to change nowadays.

Though, Izuku wasn't sure why it started so suddenly. He knew his Dad had been working on changing the syllabus for the Hero course for a while, but from what he recalled from his Dad's complaining, this change wasn't supposed to happen this quickly. Izuku honestly believed Dad would try to change the Entrance Exam test before he changed the syllabi.

The door slid open and his Dad walked in. Looking even more tired than he had been in the morning.

Hmm… didn't he have a Law and Ethic class with the second year Hero students?

"Alright class, those who have chosen an elective go wear your hero costumes, and head to the ground in front of Gym Zeta." He declared.

"...there's a Gym Zeta?" Izuku heard someone whisper in disbelief.

" Exucse my language, but what the actual fuck?"  Shigaraki shrieked. " How many grounds are there? How big is this place? "

"How… How do they even have the money for this?" En asked, looking worryingly close to spontaneously combusting.

" ...how did the economy change this drastically? " Shinomori asked.

" Mhmm, it has changed a lot since my time ." Nana said, " We only had three grounds, and five gyms. And during that time, UA covered almost all of the tip of this hill. "

En face planted on the ground. Banjo bellowed out a loud laugh, clutching his stomach. Izuku winced slightly as Banjo's loud laugh rang in his mind.

" He's a very minimalist person. Too much of anything overwhelms him." Shinomori explained while Izuku eyed the vestige with worry.

He noticed his Dad staring at him.

"Yes, Eraserhead?" Izuku asked, wincing internally.

" Why are you two being so awkward? " Banjo asked curiously.

Um… we have the same problem. I can't call him Sensei, and he can't call me Midoriya without feeling awkward.

So I stick to Eraserhead. And he stares at me as hard as he can until I notice it, or just calls me 'he'. But thanks to Situational Awareness I pick up his staring pretty easily.

Shigaraki started laughing along with Banjo. Izuku rolled his eyes in his mind, and focused on his Dad.

"Nedzu is asking for you. Meet him after this class is over." He said.

"Huh. What for?" Izuku asked. He didn't have another class with him until next week.

His Dad shrugged as he turned around. Real helpful dad.

He whipped his head around in Izuku's direction and narrowed his eyes. Did you just sass me in your mind?

Erm… no? Izuku looked away.

"Midoriya! Let's go!" Uraraka chirped, bouncing over to his desk. Izuku couldn't help but smile seeing her enthusiasm. He nodded and stood up.

"Okay."

***

"Midoriya, if you don't mind me asking, do you and Bakugo know each other from before high school?" Uraraka asked. Izuku noticed she was wearing her hero costume as well.

"Yeah! We're childhood best friends! We pretty much grew up together." Izuku answered.

"Is he always like that?" Uraraka asked, "You know, loud and angry?"

Izuku chuckled, "Yeah… but he's not bad though! He's a good friend."

"Mhmm." Uraraka twirled around on her toes, and smiled, "You're a really kind person, Midoriya!"

Izuku felt himself blush lightly, and rubbed the back of his neck, "It's not like that…"

"Midoriya! Uraraka!" Another voice called. Izuku looked over his shoulder to find Iida running his way to them. He was wearing the normal school uniform. Izuku wasn't surprised. In fact, he believed he would have been more surprised if Iida did pick an elective.

"No running in the halls." Uraraka reminded cheekily. Three days in, and everyone knew that Iida was a stickler for rules. It was hilarious to see him freeze abruptly, as his eyes went wide. Anyone could see the way he momentarily panicked before correcting himself. He slowed down, and then speed walked towards them. Uraraka burst out laughing seeing it, while Izuku giggled.

"Thank you for reminding me, Uraraka!" Iida said, chopping his hand in the air.

Uraraka gave a bright smile, "You're welcome!"

"Why do you think Eraserhead asked us all to gather together?" Iida asked, "Should this class be solely for the ones who picked an elective?"

"Mhmm." Izuku thought about it but couldn't come up with a reason why his Dad would ask all of them to gather around. "No idea."

Gym Zeta looked nothing like a gym. It was more like a glorified Jungle gym.

But the more important part was there no was no teacher in sight. While half of them looked at the jungle gym in awe, the rest looked around in search for the Special Heroics teacher. Izuku noticed him first. Or more like, heard him. He recognized the soft sound right away. It was hard not to when he was so used to hearing it.

The flap of wings.

A stealthy bird.

Suddenly it makes sense why he was acting weird and asking me all those questions. Izuku thought and whipped his head up.

Majestic red wings stretched to their limits, flapped both silently and with power as he descended from the sky.

"Hawks?!" Izuku spluttered. The Number Three Hero landed in front of the crowd with his iconic press smile plastered on his face. His wings remained outstretched and he bowed slightly.

"At your service." He grinned.

***

At first there was pin drop silence, and then chaos. And from the wide grin on Hawks face it was exactly the reaction he had been hoping for.

"What is Hawks doing here?"

"He's going to be the special Heroics teacher?"

"First All Might and now Hawks?!"

"Oh my god!"

"Someone pinch me!"

"Silence!" Shouta ordered, activating his quirk. Everyone fell quiet as his eyes flashed red, and his hair started floating upwards. He glared at everyone until there was pin drop silence, before deactivating his quirk. He grumbled as he took out his eye drop, "Ugh, brats. Did I not tell you not to make use of my quirk too much."

"Hello little birds," Hawks gritted, a friendly smile on his face, "You guessed it right on the money. I'm going to be your Special Heroics teacher. Though, it won't just be me. Special Heroics is a vast subject, ya know. Plus, I'm currently working for my teaching license, so I'm going to need a little bit of help from you guys as well."

Izuku peeked over Iida's shoulder, confused as to when the blue haired boy had stepped in front of him. He felt a weird feeling stir in his chest. His forehead furrowed slightly, as he pouted. His fingers fiddled with edge of his hero costume.

Izuku heard Shigaraki sniff dramatically and loudly, "Y'all smell that? That burning smell? "

What?

Izuku whipped his head around, sniffing the air before realizing Shigaraki can't actually smell anything.

" That burning smell of jealousy. " Shigaraki finished, cackling at the end.

I'm not jealous , Izuku thought a little too quickly to seem convincing to the vestiges.

" I didn't say a name though ." Shigaraki pointed out.

"He didn't!" Banjo unhelpfully added.

Izuku felt heat rise up his cheeks. Uh….

A cold touch landed on his back, and he glanced back to find En patting his back with a solemn expression on his face. " It's okay to feel jealous."

But I'm not jealous!

" You don't sound convincing, kiddo! " Banjo deadpanned.

Whatever, it was a dumb nickname anyways. I'm not a bird, or little. Izuku huffed and ignored the vestiges in favor of focusing on Hawks, and his Dad. Just as he turned his attention back to them, he met eyes with the Number Three Hero. The winged Hero grinned and waved at him, "Hey baby bird!"

Izuku sucked in a sharp breath. Feeling him unwillingly to relax as something warm stirred in him.

" Pfft- " Shigaraki laughed.

A handrose up. Hawks looked delighted at that. The feathers of his wings bristled as he pointed to Uraraka, "Yes, you!"

From the stupidly satisfied look on his face, Izuku knew the Hero was probably dying to ge the chance to do this. "You know Midoriya?"

"Yep!" Hawks replied. "We race sometimes." He said, with a air of nonchalant pride in his voice, "I win."

"By a few seconds! " Izuku mumbled in protest. Every time. Izuku thought. He does this everytime he wins a race.

Another hand rose up. Hawks look delighted once again as he pointed to Asui. "Yes?"

"How do we refer to you, kero?" She asked, "Do we call you Hawks, or sensei?"

"I'm fine with both," Hawks shrugged. Then, he clapped his hand, "Anyways, let's continue with our class, shall we?" He looked at Shouta, waving his hand in a motion to say 'go on'.

Shouta huffed and rolled his eyes slightly as he whipped out of a notepad from… somewhere.

"In case you're wondering why you were called here despite not having chosen an elective-," Shouta explained, "-is so that you can observe the class for today if you want. In case you want to join from next time onwards, you will need to inform me about it and I'll give you the forms for it. Anyways," he glanced at the notepad, "the ones who have chosen Special Heroics studies, step forward."

"Great!" Hawks chirped happily, "Now let me explain how this class will be conducted and what I'll be teaching you guys. Since Special Heroics will include every other stream aside from Battle Heroics, you will have more than one teacher that will train you depending upon the kind of hero you want to become. I will be teaching you the basic training for non quick based fighting. For Underground training you will have," He waved in Shouta's direction dramatically, stretching out his wing to point in his direction as well, "the one and only Eraserhead and for Rescue training you will have…" he trailed away. Izuku knew from the glimmer in his eyes that Hawks wouldn't reveal who the third teacher was.

"You'll find that out in your next class!" Hawks declared earning a whine from Uraraka.

Called it.

Hawks attention directed to the group of students behind him. "Yes, the one with glasses."

"I'm Iida Tenya, Hawks sensei." Iida introduced himself, "And if you don't mind asking me a question…"

"Sure, go on." Hawks urged.

"Um…" I think I know what Iida wants to ask, Izuku thought. "Why will they be learning about quirkless fighting?"

"Excellent question," Hawks chirped. "Contrary to popular belief, learning how to fight without your quirk will help you even if you go into Battle Heroics. Not always will your quirk match up with the villains you're fighting. Or not always will the environment be suitable for your quirk either." He pointed to himself, "Take me for example— Technically speaking, my quirk is disadvantageous against most other quirks. My feathers are weak against fire and water based quirk. While in most cases I'd try to contain the villain and minimize the damage, but if there is a civilian in danger, I will have to step in. It's not like I can stand by and watch. In situations like that I need to know how to fight despite the disadvantage." He pointed to Shouta, "Even better example for quirkless fighting would be your homeroom teacher! His quirk is amazing, but despite that he needs to engage in hand to hand combat!" Hawks took a pause to let his words sink in, "No matter the field of Heroics you go into, there will always come a time when you will need to fight without a quirk."

"...I see, I've never considered a possibility like that." Iida mumbled, "Thank you sensei!"

"You're welcome!" Hawks smiled, "Now my little birds, just to confirm, Uraraka, and Asui, you've both chosen Rescue Heroics, and Shinso you've chosen Underground Heroics, am I right?"

"Yes, sensei!"

"Kero."

"Yes, sir."

"And Izuku you didn't choose a particular field, so I'm guessing you want to go through all the training courses?" Hawks asked.

"If that's an option, yeah." Izuku nodded.

"Of course it is, baby bird," Hawks replied. A short pause and then the hero glanced at Shouta before signing something to Shouta. Shouta looked at the winged Hero with a judging look before nodding in response.

"Alright, now for the first few quicks, you will all go through basic training before you focus on a particular field." Hawks explained. He glanced at the students behind them, before looking at Shouta once again, "What about them?"

"Like, I said, if they want to stay here and observe if they want. Otherwise, it's a free period for them." Shouta answered. And as Izuku expected, no one moved.

"Now for your first class, you will be focusing on your senses. A common problem a lot of heroes face is vision. Most humans have a 30 degree range of vision, 60 degree field of vision, and 120 degree range of peripheral vision. Beyond that, neither falls under the blind range of either eye. Meaning, beyond 120 degrees on this side," he pointed to his left, "is blind to my left eye. And same for my right. But, most people can only use 60 degrees of the entire vision range. And that further narrows during tense situations." He frowned slightly, "And that's dangerous."

"Your vision is even more important for Underground Heroics. Your vision is already taking a hit because of the darkness at night. But if it tunnels due to the pressure of the fight, you will be open to attacks not just from the villain you're fighting but also, surprise attacks. And Underground villains hardly ever go solo."

"So, for your training, you will work on engaging as much of your vision as you can." Hawks explained, "Now, another point to keep in mind. Vision doesn't just mean seeing. You need to process what you're saying. For example," He looked at Shinso, "Shinso, on the way here, how many posters had the color red in it?"

"Um… there were a few anti-bullying posters…" Shinso mumbled, "And um…" He sighed and shook his head, "No idea."

"That's alright. The fact that you even noticed is a good start." Hawks replied, "Anyone else?"

Izuku shot his hand up.

"Yes, Izuku?"

"Um, I think there were seven of them." Izuku answered.

Hawks opened his mouth as if he was going to say 'Correct' but then crossed his hand into an X and went, "Ding, wrong answer!" He looked at Shouta, "Eraserhead?"

Shouta let out a tired sigh and answered, "There's 15. 7 anti-bullying, 3 for activity clubs, 2 for school notices, and 3 for rules."

"Correct!" Hawks chirped. "You see, the posters for Anti-bullying were white letters on a red background. So it'll catch your eye if you have a wide range of vision, but for the rest, they had red with other colors. Was it red or white? Did I see any red there? Questions like that create doubt, and doubts leave room for mistakes. Mistakes you can't always afford."

"Now vision like Eraserhead doesn't count. It's rare." Hawks explained, "What he has is called an Eagle eye. As in, he can see any place from top view. Like a bird flying from the sky. Here's an example. Eraserhead, how many feathers are hovering right now?"

"Six." Shouta answered with ease. Izuku gaped in surprise. The feather's were behind him. Suddenly it made a lot of sense why he could never sneak up to his Dad without Stealth on. And sometimes, even with Stealth activated, he failed. He didn't sense him coming, he saw him.

"But, you can come close to his level of spatial awareness." Hawks continued.

"That's so cool." Izuku heard Shinso whisper in awe.

"Here's how we'll proceed." Hawks stepped aside giving a clear view to the jungle gym, "You will have to clear this course, while avoiding getting shot by the balls." On cue, several drones flew up in the air. "Don't worry, none of them will hurt you. Just enough so you know you were hit."

"For your ease, the drones will follow the exact same pattern every single time. " Shouta added, "And you can only get 10 times before you're out." Then he stared at Izuku.

Getting the silent message, Izuku activated telepathetic connection.

'You can't use Situation Awareness.'

Okay!

Asui raised her hand, "But sensei, how can we avoid the shots?"

"You just need to see it and move out of its way." Hawks explained, "After the drones target you, you will have around two seconds to avoid getting shot. Like this," he detached a feather and directed it towards Shouta. It hovered in the air for two seconds, while Shouta ducked before shooting forward. "The drones can't change the trajectories for their shots after they've set a target."

"You will need to run through the course three times." Shouta added.

Huh.

Sounds' simple enough.

***

It was NOT simple enough.

Izuku got shot out after five minutes the first time around. The second, he lasted six minutes. And the third time, he managed to avoid three drones, and reached halfway through before getting out.

After he trudged away from the course and plopped down on the ground, he realized where his flaw was. Even though he had long ago gained a wide range of vision, he was missing the second part. He didn't remember where he saw the drones, or when.

Even though by the third time, he had been able to recall the positions of the first five, he missed the seventh and eighth one. He got shot in his head both times. He was fifty percent sure he saw his Dad laugh at that.

Asui performed the best out of them. Having managed to reach midway just by the second chance. And by the third time, she even took down one of the drones with her tongue.

She's amazing.

Uraraka and Shinso both struggled like him. Though it seemed Uraraka got used to it by the third time around. Shinso on the other hand didn't seem to memorize the positions and path of the drones, but opted for slipping past them with speed.

"You all did fairly well for your first class!" Hawks said happily. "Did you guys get an idea of how you have to do this?"

"Yep!"

"I did!"

"Kero."

"Yeah."

"Perfect! You can practice your spatial awareness anywhere, and not just in class." Hawks pointed out, "So, try to do it if you can."

TRRING!

The bell rang declaring the end of the class. Izuku had no idea when the time passed away.

"Alright, that's all for today! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me anytime!"

Izuku was so going to force Dabi to help him later on at home.
