She sat in the wheelchair, her slender hand tightly gripping the wheelchair's armrest, her knuckles appearing very pale due to the exertion.
Elly Campbell was momentarily stunned, the overly calm look in her eyes causing her anxiety.
"Helen, why are you out here?"
She moved forward to push Helen Melendy back into the ward, intentionally avoiding Helen's gaze.
Helen didn't respond, and the brief yet deliberate silence in the room made Elly feel exceptionally oppressed.
After a long while, she finally heard Helen's raspy voice softly calling her, "Elly."
"Hmm?"
She instinctively raised her eyes to look at Helen.
Seeing her opening her mouth several times, her pale lips so dry, it seemed she wanted to ask something but dared not let the words out.
Helen's current state made Elly even more concerned.
After another moment, Helen's trembling voice spoke:
