At this point, Mrs. Gresia looked panicked; she could see from Helen Melendy's demeanor that she truly didn't care about taking her case.
She was the one who had gone to great lengths to schedule the appointment to have her fight the legal battle, but now she found herself on the back foot.
Mr. Stevenson is William Gresia's representative lawyer, and by telling him she wouldn't take the case, it was essentially giving William Gresia room to back out.
"You..."
Mrs. Gresia was trembling with anger, "Lawyer Melendy, I paid a million in legal fees, are you really not going to take it?"
"Even if you gave me two million now, I wouldn't want to take your case."
Helen Melendy, even while seated in a wheelchair, was no less imposing than Mrs. Gresia.
"As for those initial costs, I'll consider them charity and won't collect the fees from you, Mrs. Gresia. Now, you can leave."
As she spoke, she pointed towards the door.
"No... please, Lawyer Melendy, reconsider..."
