The two dug a large pit along the clump of plants, carefully extracting the whole plant with a large chunk of soil. Manbao looked at it and felt the survival rate was very high.
Once the root was exposed, Manbao squatted down to take a look, feeling it was very familiar. She carefully snapped off a piece, sniffed it, and said, "It seems to be spicewood."
Manbao wiped the dirt off with her hand, peeled off a layer of the bark, and popped it into her mouth. After tasting it, she spat it out and said, "It's spicewood root."
She looked at the lush plant before her, then at the root in her hand, suddenly realizing, "So this is spicewood."
Bai Shan asked, "What is it used for?"
Manbao replied, "It can stop bleeding, reduce swelling, relieve pain, and can be used to treat stomach aches, eczema, rashes, and bleeding from knife wounds. I often use it with net-leaved schisandra root bark, rush pith, and plantain for treating stomach pain."
