"Hmm.... How could you do this to me?? I gave you my love….. my heart…. And all you could think of is wanting my blood.." Katie voiced out shakily, she couldn't believe that she fell in love with a cold blooded devil.
"If I could.... Could turn back time….. will I still…..choose…to .. love…you" Katie gulped her saliva while tears flowing down her cheeks. Nothing could suppress the anger, embarrassment and hatred she was feeling, the man in front of her with no emotions, what was she thinking when she thought that a man of that caliber will give up everything for her just like she did. The most handsome and powerful vampire Drake could only stare at with suppressing his emotions.
'This woman had no idea how much I loved her but I could only become powerful with her blood without even anyone's blood again, I know I'm being selfish but this is the only way I could save her' Drake thought then he said to her coldly,
"I have never loved you, you were just my prey… you of all people should know how this position means to me" Drake voiced out, even the house felt the loudness as it stumbled a little. Katie could only look at him while sitting on the floor helplessly with pitiful eyes, despite his reasons she knew that Drake loved her even if it's just for a moment as she believed that no one could fake the happiness when someone is in love.
But she had to confront him by confirming if he had ever once in his life as his wife from the day they were married,
"Did you ever loved me even if it's just for a minute" Katie asked with her trembling voice hoping for the best but she could only see the cold aura coming out from him as she listened attentively to what he was about to say
"I had never once in my life loved you as my wife but I had loved your blood" Drake said boldly,
That's what something Katie didn't want to hear, as she listened to it, the voice echoed over and over again, haunting her over and over as if she was nothing but a empty basket but full of valuables.
"Do you know that all these powers you have now belongs to me, even the position you have right now is due to my blood" Katie said composing herself after crying for a while, wishing he would at least feel guilty but she was wrong,
"That's why you are still alive, had it been you were a vampire, I would have killed you a long time ago but you should be happy that you are still human" Drake chuckled.
"What???... If not ...… if not...am human….. How could you think of ...… how could you.... You want..." Katie chocked on her own words, as her hands trembled on the ground, she felt like she didn't know him anymore as she thought that
'Had it been I wasn't human, he would have killed me.... Thank God I didn't tell him that I'm not vampire'
"Was it a crime that I had loved you or wanted to be with you despites your vampire history??" Katie wept as she remembered the memories they shared together,
"Drake.... Drake... food's ready…. Come and eat" Katie said smiling while serving the food on the table".
Drake was smiling happily as he ran towards his wife hugging her tightly from behind. His smile, laughter and the brightness his face was, the sparkling his eyes were, those are emotions that no one can fake.
"Remember the first time we met, I approached you using my sickness as an excuse, I was able to walk with you arms to arms. We were like couples" Katie said smiling and at the same time crying, Drake looked at her swollen face, felt the urge to embrace her and comfort her but it's impossible for a vampire to be with human such human will always be a weakness. Then Katie continue talking,
"That same day, while we were still walking together though we aren't talking but I felt happy, and suddenly I fainted, you were scared because I felt your trembling hands and your shaking voice as you scream"
"Katie….. Katie.... Katie… wake up … please.... Wake up… Katie"
"That was the first time someone called my name so much that I want to wake up but just can't, the way you called my name then, was heartwarming and at the same time, the way you carried me was like holding an egg carefully because you are scared that it might break….."
"Katie…. Stop thinking about the past…"
"You are right, it's in the past but I know you once loved me and I still don't get why you are like this. I want you to tell me the truth" Katie said firmly, she loved Drake and for the last few years they had been together, Katie knew him more than he knew himself.
"What reason?? I've told you the truth, whether you like it or not, it's none of my concern"
"Before I agreed to be yours, I knew you were cold-hearted guy and I also know that if something was going on, you won't tell me and there's only one thing that can explain it which is that, I'm your weakness and not your strength so you will never let anyone kill me but you"
" When you knew the truth, why did you feign ignorance??"
Katie knew exactly what was needed to be done and right now she's not ready to sacrifice anything for love because right now, love is for suckers and she is not one.
