"And I believe I need to be stronger. There's no way I can grow stronger if I don't try. I want to be strong enough to stand beside him."
After her short speech, Agnes held her hand a small smile on her face, with hope brimming in her heart.
She nodded at Audrey. "We'll see what we can do. But, you have had a long night. I think you should sleep, we can start working on them tomorrow."
Even if Audrey wanted to work, she couldn't. Her body felt like iron and she let out an involuntary yawn. She might have been adjusting to this new life, but that didn't mean she was suddenly an expert at pushing herself to the brim.
She nodded at Agnes, and moved back to Damien's bed. The bed was so small it could barely contain two, and with him sleeping soundly, she didn't want to inconvenience him.
She pulled a chair and slept on it.
