The silent rocking of the carriage was the lullaby Audrey needed as her body took it as an invitation to rest.
The countless days of waking early and going to bed late was well behind her now.
She no longer flushed red anytime she looked at her husband, and she had tried to put that incident well behind her.
Fortunately, there was no other incident on the way. She only wakes up to the food or refreshment her husband brought for her. And once she was done, she was back to sleeping.
She had kept the book back in her bag as she didn't want to think of anything at all on the way.
When the carriage started slowly down again, she looked outside. The forest were starting to be replaced by mountains. And she could see a small stream flowing between the mountains.
She stared at them as the bigger rock started reducing to a small rock, with footpaths along the way.
"We're close to Mashup village. Be prepared to get down." Damien spoke beside her.
