Didi had recognized him in his monster state.
Damien stared at Didi with unhidden doubts. As much as he believed every one of Didi's words, the lower monsters barely remembered things happening around them. They were creatures who only cared about their mouth, nothing else.
And Didi hadn't turned into a monster completely.
So how?
"Apart from me, did you see anyone else?" Damien asked. He needed to be certain Didi was sure of what he was saying.
Didi frowned, his eyes fixed on one spot as if he was trying to view the memory from it. "No. I don't remember seeing anyone else. Just you, Your Highness."
Damien sighed. That was impossible. Ever since he started dealing with monsters, he was rarely alone. And when he rescued Didi in the cave, he wasn't alone. Some of the soldiers were with him.
But he didn't want Didi feeling bad, so he said, "Thank you, Didi. I hope you enjoy your reunion with your family."
Didi nodded, then bowed again before leaving. "Thank you, Your Highness."
