Chapter 2 - Faithless

[Name : Ray Ragnarok]

[Age : 20]

[Job : Angel of Wishes]

Ray glanced at his terminal while slurping his noodles. He was still dumbfounded by the events that had occurred. He had not only awakened a job but also awakened the job of the highest class. Angels was a job awakened by the elites with maximum amount of power of faith when awakening. Angels were also one of the easiest jobs out their, they just needed to preach their faith at the cathedral and they would farm faith even with their eyes closed.

Still gloating at his seemingly easy future he focused on his job to open job terminal. A flash of light brought a golden screen which had a different vibe from the normal terminals. Job terminals were divided into different colors, their colors differentiate different elements their jobs were related to. This golden color was for the holy energy that the angels had. As Ray was admiring the design of terminal his eyes finally landed on his terminal.

[Job : Angel of Wishes]

[Rank : 0 (0/10)]

[Skills : Wish fulfillment, Divinity Conversion]

[Faith : Faithless]

[Trait : Fallen]

He was gloating at everything on his terminal until his eyes landed on his faith. He nearly choked at his noodles when he saw 'faithless'.

'Why is this showing faithless, How am I going to start my faith farm if I'm faithless'

He still had a little hope that this was just temporary so he willed to expand on his faith.

[Faithless : Angels need to have faith but in rare cases they abandon their faith or are abandoned by them. The trait 'Fallen' is inflicted on those who have abandoned their faith]

'The Divines must be playing a joke on me'

Ray shook his head as he contemplated on what to do. To rank up he needed faith power which most probably he couldn't even absorb. He felt that even though flawed having a job was still better than not having one. Now he needed to find a way to rank up.

'How nice would it have been to just preach all day and get powerful'

Ray sighed, Now that he couldn't apply a job at cathedral his only option was to turn into a stray. Strays were awakeners who just took commissions as they roam around the world. There were many powerful awakeners among strays but most of the elites were not a stray. This was because of the lack of unity among strays and the uncertainty factor that occurred while travelling from places to places.

But before that he needed to figure out his skills which would help him complete his commissions. Even though he couldn't make use of any divine skills which was a huge let down, his skills couldn't be bad. After all he was an Angel.

[Wish fulfillment : As an angel of wish your wish is also the will of the world. You can spend divinity to twist the laws of fate and fulfill any of your wish.]

'This seems like a really powerful ability'

Ray didn't know the limitations of his skill or how costly divinity was, but instinctively he got a feeling that this skill was godly as his only limit was his imagination. And a skill related to fate couldn't be weak.

'Make me the richest man on earth'

[You do not have enough divinity to proceed. required : 400 million divinity]

Ray was shocked to see the number, he didn't know how easy it was to accumulate divinity but 400 million should still be very had to accumulate.

'It seems its still long before I become the richest man'

He finally gazed at his next skill.

[Divinity conversion: You can convert someone's divinity a they will become your believer and you will earn divinity from them]

[Current believers : 0 (0 divinity/ day)]

[Total divinity: 0]

'So this is how I can earn divinity. I need to figure out its mechanics'

Ray contemplated, his only way to get believers was to use his divinity conversion. But he was still skeptical on the use conditions and costs of this skill. He needed to fully test things out to find the details.

He finally glanced at his trait. Traits were special characteristics that made an awakened truly powerful. Their were many great traits like weightless and breathless which gave the holder ability to do things in this case flying and breathing underwater. Their were also traits like iron body and herculean strength which gave enhancement to their defense and strength. So he was really excited to know his trait.

[Fallen : You have fallen from your once perfect self. Doing any deeds of evil alignment will lead you to convert into a devil. Fallen have a special active trait 'charm']

Devils were the foe of humanity, knowing that you could turn into one at any giving moment made it depressing. All Ray knew was he absolutely couldn't turn into a devil or else he would die a very miserable death.

[Charm : Your words carry an enchanting charm which makes everyone believe in what you say, requires 1 divinity]

Ray's mouth twitched. This trait was great, infact it was very powerful making people believe in you would come handy in many situations but their was a big problem. The problem was this trait was given to him, he didn't know if he could control himself.

'If it was me 2 years ago I could have easily dealt with this trait'

It made him sad that he had to rely on what he had already lost, that part of him was very hard to recover. The only way for him now was to act as one. Acting like a saint would hard but he just needed to minimize the amount of emotions he would show on his face.

Finishing his meal he finally got out, now he needed to find a suitable first job to test out his abilities. Jobs could be found in summoning stations and the nearest summoning station was just 5 minutes away from the garden.

***------***

The summoning station looked really grand from outside. Their was a large alter which seemed to have various levels of arrays inscribed and various mysterious looking awakeners guarding and making sure of the functionality of the summoning altar. just outside the alter various awakeners could be seen opening their stalls where they would exchange various tools and artifacts they got from completing jobs.

A large crowd could be seen inside the alter as people were appearing and disappearing constantly this made this place seem very busy. Just as he was made his way to the alter he saw huge number of people started gathering at a spot inside the alter.

Curiously he squeezed through the crowd, and what he saw was a familiar figure the only one whom he could bare in his family....only a little bit though. Coincidentally their eyes met and the other person stared at him with wide eyes. Then I was compelled to greet him.

"It's been a while, hasn't it?"

While managing a weird grin i added.

''Brother"
