Looking over at his beautiful wife-to-be, he couldn't be happier to be wrong. Turning on his side, he faced her as she slept soundly. His beautiful Island princess had not moved on from him; for months he had avoided contacting her because he did not wish to face the reality that she had moved on with her Ex, and for months he agonised over the fact that he was only a passing phase for her; he was only a tool she used to satisfy her sexual curiosity.
He was now happy to learn that all he had agonised about was the furthest thing from the truth; he wasn't a passing phase to her or a tool. He was someone she loved dearly, and she was deeply remorseful of her actions following her sister's accusations. If only he had contacted her sooner, he wouldn't have spent months agonising over the fact that he had to marry someone else in order to produce an heir because his beautiful Island princess wasn't only carrying his heir but also his heiress.
And for months, while dealing with her pregnancy, she was agonising over what she did to him, over the fact that she would have to raise her children as a single mother, and over the fact that if he was to return to the Island, it would be for the sole purpose of ripping her children away from her as payback for what she did to him; talk about dealing with a lot.
But thanks to his father, he was here now; they were reunited, and they had put all their assumptions to rest and were now looking forward to starting their lives over as a family. He, Evan, Anthony, and her mother had talked until late last night, during which he told them who was responsible for him ending up on their Island and the reason behind his attack, after which they all realized that he and Liah were in a similar situation where they were both betrayed by a close family member. They asked a lot of questions regarding what he had told them and how his life had been since he returned home, and he answered them as best he could.
When they had retired to bed, he and Liah then began their personal conversation, which lasted until dawn. She was so tired that she fell asleep with her head on his chest during their conversation, sighing contentedly. He wrapped his arms around her, kissed her lightly on the lips, and closed his eyes.
At present, it was 8:30 a.m., and she was still asleep. He could hear movements outside the door, which meant her family was already awake. Two people he knew didn't sleep at all last night were Keshan and Lee, as they had told him multiple times that their duty is to guard him with their lives and that, as long as they were needed, sleeping would have to wait.
He loved and appreciated their loyalty, but they too needed to rest, so moving slowly he eased himself away from her, got off the bed, and after making a call he walked towards the door, and sure enough Keshan and Lee were both there. One was standing inside the main entrance and one right at his bedroom door. "Good morning, Your Highness," they both greeted him, bowing slightly. "Good morning," he replied with a slow nod. "Three guards are on their way here as we speak. Two will take your positions, and one will escort you both to the hotel, get changed, eat something, and get some rest. I'll see you both at the church at one pm, that is an order." He says firmly as they were about to protest.
"Liah," he calls her softly as she was having her breakfast. "Hmm," "When I proposed to you last night...I..." "Great, now you realize it was a hasty mistake and want to take it back." She says, cutting him off. "Princess Liah, what did I say about doubting my words?" He asks, narrowing his eyes at her.
"Oops, sorry, please continue," She says, biting her lips nervously. "So, as I was saying, when I proposed last night, I neglected to inform you that our wedding will be today at one pm." "Wait... what?" she asked, choking on a bite of her toast. "You heard me, which means we need to leave here by 11 o'clock." "But why? What's the rush?" She ask.
"I'm not permitted to have children out of wedlock. I need to make you my wife before our children enter this world, and by the size of your stomach, that could be any day now," he replied. "But a wedding sometimes takes weeks or months to plan; how will we do it in one day?" she asked.
"My father has already taken care of everything; all we need to do is show up." "Wait, he can do that?" She asked in wide-eyed shock. "The list of things that my father can't accomplish is very short." He replied with a snort. "She had always wanted a big wedding, but she will gladly settle for a small one if that's what it takes to be with him, maybe because of his status; he didn't want to make a big deal of his wedding in her country. Maybe it will be just him, her, and her family before a pastor, but she won't complain; there's nothing she wouldn't do for this man.
"O... okay, I will finish my breakfast and get dressed," she says, her heart pounding in her ears.
By 11 o'clock, they were all seated in one of the black SUVs, heading out. Sensing her nervousness, he moved closer to her and began massaging her fingers. "Hey, my title might have changed, but I'm still your Moses, you know that, right?" "I know, um, where are we going?" she asked anxiously.
"There's a hotel close to the chapel; we will get change there," he explained. "Okay," she whispers.
