Chapter 116 - Chapter 116 Pledges

Twenty minutes later, the Limo came to a stop, and a few seconds later the same men who had helped her in, helped her out by extending their hands to her, which she took, and carefully exited the vehicle; they then escorted her into a section of the church where a few more ladies were waiting to assist her with whatever she needed.

She was sipping a cool glass of juice when Moses's personal guards came and informed her that it was time for her to enter the church. They walked on either side of her while two of the ladies lifted the train that was attached to her dress. As they approached the entrance of the church, she noticed a long red carpet leading into the church, and even though she had long since convinced herself that this was a dream, somehow she could still hear the drumming of her heart in her ears.

Tapping his earpiece, one of the guards says, "Princess Liah will now enter." A few seconds later, she heard the wedding march being played on an organ, and the large double doors began opening slowly. The guards bow to her and step back as her mother and brother take their positions on either side of her, and they begin walking slowly along the carpet that she now realizes ran from outside all the way to the altar

Entering the church, she was surprised to see more people than she had expected. This was definitely a dream because there was no way all these people could have made it here with such short notice, and here she was thinking that it would only be her and him before a pastor, but that was not the case.

The two doctors that had cared for him were there, the one that Razor shot and the one that took over from him. Blade and Razor were there. The pastor that she heard he had stayed with for a short time was there. Jody, Joseph, Evan, Rohan, and his pretty girlfriend were there.

A few men that looked like dignitaries from Moses's country filled the two front rows of the church and as she approached them, they stood and bowed to her. These important-looking men bowing to her, yeah, this was a dream alright. A dream she would enjoy to the fullest.

Looking ahead, she saw her gorgeous Arabian prince standing at the altar, smiling at her. The pastor was standing behind him, and on either side of him stood two men that look to be from his country; they were dressed in brown Thobes. (Thobes) She had learned that word as she followed news about him on the Net. A Thobe was a long, dress-like garment that men in his country wore; they also had on head coverings, which she couldn't remember the name of.

Moses wore a white Thobe with a white ankle-length Bisht lined with a diamond-stud gold border; he also wore a white head covering with a golden diamond-stud band around it.

"His suit alone could buy this entire Island," Anthony grumbled softly. "Shush," His mother hissed as they continued their slow march towards the altar. On reaching Moses, her mother placed Liah's hand in his with a warm smile before she and Anthony went and took their seats. Jody and Joseph then took their position next to the men in brown as her maid of honor and his best man.

The men in brown stepped backwards as the pastor stepped forward to begin the ceremony; this was way too much to be real. The church was immaculately decorated in purple, gold, and white. Every bench, every column, the windows, even the altar- there wasn't a spot in the church that wasn't beaming with bright, beautiful colors. How was all this done in such a short space of time? No way could this be real.

She heard when the pastor began his introduction by saying that they were all gathered here to join this man and this woman in holy matrimony, but his voice gradually faded away as the man before her consumed her every thought. Was he really here? Was this really happening right now? Or would the sad reality that she would never see him again slap her in the face as soon as she woke up?

She vaguely heard the pastor saying that the groom would now pledge his life to the bride; Moses's mouth began moving, but she couldn't make out what he was saying. "Wait," she said, shaking her head to clear the fog that was clouding her brain. "Please start from the beginning," she said, and giggles erupted throughout the church. With a soft chuckle, he began again.

"As I was saying, although it is until death do us part, I know that we will never truly part because our souls are made for each other. I promise that each kiss will be filled with more love than the last and that our days together will grow in love and devotion. From this day onwards, you and I will be one in heart, body, and mind. I vow to cherish you, devote my life to you, and always be true and faithful to you. Today you will be my wife, but we will be soulmates forever." He says, smiling down at her as he slips the ring on her finger.

"A man of few words, as usual," she laughs softly. "The bride will now pledge her life to the groom." The pastor says, and after taking a deep breath, she takes a sheet of paper from her bosom and begins.

"Let me use your real name for once," She says, smiling up at him. "Mathayus, our love bridges two shores, binding us together as one unbroken path on which I vow never to deviate, never to falter, and to always be by your side.

Nothing will divide us because I know that with your love I will always have strength. I never knew that life could be a dream until I met you. I vow patience, honesty, and adoring love as long as we both shall live and beyond." She giggles, then continues.

"I take great pleasure in pledging my life to you; loving you was the best decision I ever made. As you have given me your ring, I give you this ring; wear it with love and joy as I will wear yours, and as you have chosen me, I choose you to be my husband, to have and to hold from this day forward until eternity. I pledge to you my faithfulness. I pledge to show you the same kind of love as God shows us when he died for us. I will love you as a part of myself; in the sight of the Lord we are one. I love you, Mathayus, I always have and I always will." She says with tears in her eyes as she slips the ring on his finger.

"As they have pledged their lives to each other, it's my honor to pronounce them husband and wife; you may now kiss your bride." The pastor says. "I have been dreaming of this moment since arriving at your home last night." He whispers against her lips before capturing them in a passionate, toe-curling kiss.

One of the men dressed in brown cleared his throat, and Mathayus reluctantly pulled away from her. A round of applause erupted throughout the church as they turned to face their family and friends. They were then led to a table at the front of the church, and after helping her to sit, he took a seat beside her. A gold pen was placed before her on a purple velvet cushion for her to sign their marriage certificate.

While signing, she saw the men in the front row of the church get up and line the aisle of the church on both sides. Helping her up, he took her hand in his and led her towards the big double doors, the men bowing as he passed them, while a few of the ladies she had met at the church threw rose petals at them, while the others lifted the train on her dress.

They enter the Limo first, but as Anthony was about to enter, Keshan stopped him. "The Prince and Princess will travel alone." He says, bowing respectfully. "The family and bridal party will travel behind with Lee," he adds. "Fine then, let's go," Anthony says to Lee as he walks towards the vehicle they had arrived in. Keshan then got in the front of the Limo with the driver.
