It's looking good!
Glancing at the current status, Nagisa couldn't help but marvel.
In this single fight alone, my level had risen leaps and bounds compared to before. Of course, considering the strength of the troll boss it should have been more of a meteoric rise, but it was something Nagisa could be content with.
This was reality, not a game where battling higher leveled monster meant an explosive rise in EXP.
[12 levels after a fight, good enough for a workout at least]
If it was less than a five level improvement, Nagisa might have called for an internal investigation. This game would definitely be rigged.
But 12 levels was indeed decent.
Thanks to this, his level was already approaching level 100.
Reaching level 100 is my main goal. Normally games would limit character status to around level 99 or 100.
Would that be the case in this world? If so, future battles would become several times more difficult than ever.
And, perhaps even if level 100 is a limit, maybe one can break through the wall by completing some sort of conditions?
These were all things Nagisa needed to find out in order to make a conclusion for his future plans of escaping the dungeon.
And since the EXP gained now was significantly lower than at the start of this journey, completing that milestone may take a while.
Hmmm…
[Well, even if all my speculations come true I still believe making it out of this dungeon shouldn't be impossible]
Even if leveling up is impossible, I have 'Exploitation' which can improve my individual stats by absorbing a defeated opponents soul.
Eventually, even if I get stuck at lv.100 I would still be strong against monsters at a high level.
Still, leveling up has its benefits of the extra points added to stats and skills. I'm a bit reluctant to lose that benefit.
But, I recall that Valkyrie that sent me here should be way beyond lv.100?
If it just a case that humans are unable to break through this point or, no. I'm getting ahead of myself.
I haven't even made it to level 100 myself so I can't draw random conclusions.
[For now, let's just make it a first priority]
Whether I can truly level up beyond this point will be decided then. What I should do now is take care of my business here and make my way to the 50th floor.
I don't wanna be stuck here too long if possible.
Glancing around the room, Nagisa couldn't help but shake his head. The room seemed like a zone that had experienced various disasters.
With frost covering the ground, craters and shattered debris all over. Stone pillars standing tall and some completely snapped at the middle.
Honestly, the fight was a bit unexpected and Nagisa did let his guard down at the end.
That bastard put up more of a fight than I thought.
After gaining oneness, with the constantly improving strength that came through leveling up Nagisa thought he was invincible. That he was invincible now and in the future.
No matter what monsters I face, none was my match!
[That was my miscalculation]
He was too arrogant.
Had the troll boss been a little stronger, or had his reflection ability been even just a tad more capable Nagisa would have definitely not won so smoothly.
I'm confident I could win, but what price would I pay?
Going forward I'll need to cast aside my arrogance. The higher level a monster, the stronger and smarter they become.
And when I face those even more intelligent monsters it won't be just a battle of brute strength that would decide the outcome.
Being careful is key!
[But, I realized it before my overconfidence became a problem. I would need to be careful not to lose myself in the future]
Great, self-evaluation complete.
[Now, let's focus on my precious children!]
Nagisa took out his swords, Nightfall and hopeless with care as if trembling could cause them to break.
But this was all pointless worry. The swords were not so fragile. Instead, even with the calamity level battle that just went on, there wasn't even a single scratch on the two weapons.
They seemed good as new.
[Oh! Truly how beautiful and majestic you are my babies!]
To think he could own such a fine pair of treasures!
I finally understand why the old guy kept wiping down those old statues at home as if they were his lovers.
Only those in the know could know. And now he knew!
Then, time to check the evolution conditions.
[*Evolution Conditions–
High Rank Boss monster Materials(1/5)High Rank boss monster cores(1/5)High Rank Variant Monster Materials(5/5)]
So, I need five high ranking monster materials and five high ranking monster cores.
It sounds easy on paper, but according to the current data I only have one of the materials and one core.
Was it the troll lord?
But why has the variant monster section been completely filled up? I can't remember submitting anything.
I guess it must be automatic. No wonder, it already stole the parts it wanted from the monster corpse before I could even act.
Then, if any of the materials I had fulfilled the conditions of the two remaining portions it would have long evolved.
Then, I need to defeat four more boss monsters to complete it?
Sigh!
Such hard work, how long will that even take me?
No, before that there is a problem that needs considering.
How many floors are left remaining after the 40th floor? Were there enough monsters left to complete the conditions of evolution?
And, both swords had the same conditions so this was even more concerning.
Well, even if they don't evolve these swords are powerful enough. I would definitely like to see my creations move up a tier, but if I can't do it I won't push it.
[I still love you guys just the way you are]
Mwah!
Giving his babies a gentle kiss, Nagisa gently placed them in their sheaths then placed them in his shadow.
[Well, my destiny awaits!]
Or something like that!
Standing up, Nagisa faced the newly appeared bridge and walked towards the door leading to the 41st floor.
The journey wasn't even close to being over!
