Episode(96) Human shaped insect!
SOVEREIGN OF DEATH~(96)
The large doors easily slipped open with a push.
Hm…
Nagisa couldn't help peering down at his own hands.
Compared to before where it felt like gravity was simply perching atop the doors, it now felt so much lighter when he pushed the boss door open.
What kind of material even made these doors that they were so heavy?
Each boss door seemed made with different material but it was easy to tell that the boss doors were made from extremely high class mineral and ores.
This is why I mainly concluded that the dungeon is man-made, or rather some powerful being made it and it did not occur naturally.
I glanced at Camilla who was pumping her fist ready to fight.
She did say that there were natural dungeons but it didn't seem to be the case for this one. Did some god decide to place this here as a trial for humanity?
No-
I shook my head.
What did all this matter.
There were even bigger fish to fry than worrying about who made the dungeons.
Right, like did I get stronger?
The feeling from before where the doors opened smoothly was definitely not just my imagination. I definitely grew stronger unknowingly.
As for why I didn't sense the change, my body control was just too high. I would literally adjust to any change that happened in my body instantly.
[What wrong? Are you okay?]
Camilla raised a brow at my sudden childish grin.
Was this guy going mad before he even entered the boss room?
I flicked her forehead figuring she might be thinking something rude again and changed the topic.
[Ow!]
This guy, suddenly resorting to violence! She ought to-
Pushing the angry Camilla away I focused on the space beyond the boss door.
[I don't see much here-]
Entering the boss room it seemed no different than the dark gloomy cave structures outside.
But, I definitely felt like space shifted when I entered so I'm sure this is the boss room.
Perhaps due to the increase in my level of perception, I could even feel changes in the space around me so I knew the boss room was another dimension than the regular floors.
Was this done because they didn't want boss monsters leaving their assigned floors?
Indeed, boss monsters were usually so powerful that if all they had sealing them was a door they would probably break it down and run wild.
Even to me it didn't seem funny if a monster that powerful were to leave the dungeon it would be hell for those on the outside.
Camilla nodded.
[It just seems like we went up another floor]
It really didn't look like it fit the term of 'boss room' at all. Perhaps only the increase in the size of the space around them could be said to be totally different than before.
[We might need to split up]
Saying this I pointed ahead.
Before us in the large open space was two passages. More than likely one was where the main battle would occur and the other was where treasure was.
Treasure!
Nagisa wiped away drool just thinking about it. It might just be his delusion and either way would lead to enemies but it didn't matter!
From the first time he encountered those magical crystals that enchanted him, Nagisa had long become addicted to obtaining precious materials.
It could only be said that this world was different.
Gold and silver in my previous world was everywhere in the Kanata household but the materials here were a completely new aspect, too much to let go!
Even if he had to fight a horde of monsters down the path it didn't matter.
Camilla who didn't know her partners thoughts was worried.
[But…]
Hm? Don't tell me she wants the treasure as well?
No, I have to send her away!
[Its okay, with all your training I'm certain you'll be fine on your own]
Rather, just go already!
Shoo! Shoo!
[Nagisa..]
Maybe she didn't want the treasure? I must have been too paranoid.
Seeing her genuinely happy expression at his praise Nagisa felt like he worried too much. Rather, why was he suddenly so greedy for treasure?
Looks like he hadn't cultivated his mind in so long it became filled with nothing but greed.
I looked at Camilla-
[Kuhum, you might lose an arm or a leg-]
Her expression froze.
[Don't worry, even if you can't heal yourself I can still patch you up with my ability]
[Nagisa!]
Wasn't he trying to cheer her on, why did the pep talk become like this?
Angry, she could only kick his shin but seeing him unfazed made her even more frustrated.
Still, I frowned.
[Why are you suddenly getting violent, I'm trying to cheer you on!]
Hah, only a dog would believe it!
[You're a stupid head! With a mouth like that girls must avoid you like the plague!]
Not true!
I call false!
Yes, girls avoided him and that was the truth. But, it wasn't because of his blunt attitude!
I swear that's not the case your honor!
The reason girls avoided him was because he always dressed in that nerdy disguise!
[And why are your legs so tough, no matter how hard I kick I'm the one losing HP!]
A smug smile curved up my lips.
[Hmph! I've trained since I was little, naturally my legs would show proof of my strength!]
Do you think someone like you could hurt me?
Seeing the expression that seemed to say that made Camilla nearly burst in anger.
[Just you wait lonely boy!]
Pfft!
I said it's not true woman!
Sigh!
…
[Anyway, if you find yourself in a bind just shout]
My perception was so sharp now that as long as I was in the same space as someone, even if they were at the noisiest party in the world I could still hear a pin drop.
Camilla walked then paused and turn.
[If I die then I'll haunt you first so you better come running the moment I call!]
Haha.
[Okay princess, may your journey be blessed]
She flushed.
What is this guy, always doing embarrassing stuff?
Still, looking at her toes she shyly spoke up before running away.
[You too...]
Now then, shall we get started?
It was time for some explora-
I mean, it was time to search for the boss monster!
With that thought, I anticipated what lay ahead and went into the passage opposite to the one Camilla chose.
After a bit of walking I found myself in a huge cavern with countless crystals jutting out of the ground, but what caught my attention was the pool of water glowing in the middle.
[Is that magic water?]
To be more specific, it felt like the water itself contained pure unfiltered mana. This was a new discovery.
Normally, only water created from magic would have this effect.
Perhaps being surrounded my magical energy for a long time gave the water the attributes to hold magical energy?
I placed a hand in the water and felt its state and was surprised.
Just like water created from water magic, it held no impurities. This was reasonable since mana itself would purify any impurities, but the state of the water than made me more surprised was that the water itself seemed to provide a slight enhancement boost.
It was only a small amount, it was so small that Nagisa might have missed it if his body control level wasn't so high.
But, if this amount of accumulated over time whether using this thing to drink, cook or bathe with it would gradually improve one's physique.
It had no effects on mana, but if one could improve their physical strength within a level anything was useful.
But, for Nagisa this was useless.
His physique stats were already so high and he occasionally got physique enhancements using exploitation.
What to do-
[Well, it should be helpful to have water whenever Camilla needs it and I can't immediately use magic for some reason]
And even a small grain of rice could make a difference.
With that, I took out several magical containers from my shadow and filled them all with water.
Although I was already aware, mana really is something.
There wasn't even a spec of dirt to be found in the water. Using mana to purify water seems to work fine?
No, water created from magic is formed in a purified state and one could only say this water contained pure mana after being seeped in an abundant amount for centuries.
What, am I supposed to sit pouring my mana into a puddle of water for several centuries?
Yeah, nope!
It was better to just use magic to create water or just create water filters.
Finally, after dealing with the water I set my sights on the crystals.
They contained way more mana than those before and I immediately got to mining like never before.
I didn't sense the presence of monsters anyway so why can't I be absorbed in such blessed work such as gathering treasure?
It was too bad I finished my gathering in records time.
[Whelp, let's go meet up with the helpless princess]
Just as I turned, ready to leave I heard something fall to the ground and instantly drew my sword.
[What....]
Was there something here? Why didn't my perception sense anything at all?
Let's not even mention perception, with my level of mastery in the shadow attribute seeing in the dark was no different than seeing during the daytime.
There was nothing.
No, there was.
Something deeper in the cave that I previously ignored.
Countless larvae lined the walls and one had fallen.
Watching as the fleshy type egg was ripped open from inside out and a human shaped mantis grew constantly just a few inches taller than himself, Nagisa felt disgusted by the sight.
[KIEEK!!]
The mantis however easily recognized its enemy and gave a shriek.
[No, seriously dude! What is this?!]
