Mei Mengchen just kept crying harder and harder, and right then Fan Tianyu and Liang Xiao came back. Seeing this, they thought something bad had happened to the two siblings.
"What's going on? Why is he crying so sadly?"
"It's fine, I was just telling Chenchen that I'm going to Jiangcheng for school, and he doesn't want to let me go."
Fan Tianyu said, like it was obvious: "Just call him then."
"Can't call during the month-long military training."
This really was tricky—Chenchen's so young, already lost his dad and mom, and now his sister's leaving, he's got absolutely no sense of security left.
"You could tell him later, it's only early July," Tianyu said.
But Mei Mengzhen didn't see it that way. "Makes no difference when you tell him, gotta say it sooner or later. If I tell him early, at least he can be mentally prepared."
