Lucielle had been defeated, and I had to admit that she was taking it far better than I had expected. She didn't complain, she didn't make excuses, and she didn't even try to argue about the outcome of our fight.
Then again, what exactly was there for her to complain about in the first place?
This was, after all, exactly what she had wanted from the very beginning.
"How were you even able to get stronger in such a short amount of time?" she asked quietly while staring at me.
A moment later, her eyes shifted toward the second sword that I was holding.
"I see... I guess that explains quite a few things."
At that point, I figured she had finally realized what had happened.
"So you really were holding back against me back then," she said.
There was a strange tone hidden within her voice.
It sounded hurt and somewhat disappointed as well.
I supposed that discovering the person who defeated you hadn't even been fighting seriously would deal a pretty heavy blow to anyone's pride.
