Chapter 2 - Cursed

I lay there, sitting upright in my bed.

'Rest? I can't do that right now. Why aren't my calls going through?'

I look down at my arm covered in bandages and see my arm hooked up to an IV. A screen monitoring my heart rate is besides me, connected to a device on my finger.

I hesitate for a moment, and remove it from my arm. It hurts for a second, but the pain is reduced to a dull pain after a moment, similar to how your arm feels after getting a vaccine. I take the heart rate monitor off of my finger also.

I grab the blanket draped over my lower body, and move it out of my way. I look down, and see a bed pan. Thankfully, it's empty.

I move my legs over to the left side of the bed, and sit upright. I attempt to stand up, while holding the side of the bed for support, but almost fall to the floor, my legs giving out.

"What? Why can't I stand properly?"

I grab onto the bars on the side of the bed with both hands for support, and attempt to steady myself. I try again, and this time, I'm able to stand, albeit awkwardly.

It takes me a moment before I work up the nerve to let go of the railing.

"Okay, it isn't that hard, just put one foot in front of the other."

I put my right foot forward, and then put our my left foot

Right, left, right left.

'Where do I go now? I've got no information, and my phone Is gone too.'

I take a moment to think, and decide to leave the hospital and find our where exactly I am.

I reach out, and open the door. I look into the hallway, and see the corridor empty.

"Guess I got lucky, a patient walking around unsupervised would look strange anyways."

I enter the hallway, and see a window is open. I walk toward it, and look outside. To my suprise, i see what looks like a Japanese city? I decide to take a closer look when I leave the area. I look for any signs point towards an exit or elevator, and find one at the end of the hallway.

I take a step closer, and try to read it.

"It's in.. Chinese? No, I think it's Japanese. But why can I read it?"

It's as if knowledge of the language is embedded into my brain, like I always knew it.

"I never remember learning Japanese, what is this?"

I mutter to myself.

I decide to try to reach a main lobby or something, and ask someone a few questions.

I look back at the sign

[Registration/Reception ->]

I follow the directions, and reach a corner.

I turn a corner and feel like I've walked into a brick wall. I fall backward and a grunt of pain leaves my mouth.

"Oh? In sorry, I didn't mean to walk into you, are you okay?"

I look up at the source of the voice, and am met with a light skinned teen with pink and brown hair.

I look at him, and freeze.

'Is that... Yuji Itadori?'

'Isn't he a fictional character?! Am I still dreaming? Am I still in that supposed coma?'

"Hello? You didn't hit your head, did you?"

"Ah- no, I'm fine thanks."

I take a look at him, and promptly pinch myself.

I felt that, am I really not dreaming? If I'm not dreaming, and yuji Itadori is standing infront if me, then am I in a fictional world?

"Are you lost? You seemed to be deep in thought on the ground."

I scramble to stand up, and begin talking

"No, I'm fine. Thanks."

While my mouth says these words, my mind is racing.

'If I'm in Jujutsu Kaisen, then what about my friends and mom?'

"I was just looking for the reception."

"Oh, I'm going there too. Want to come with me?"

"If it's not too much trouble."

He starts to walk, and I follow behind him unconsciously while i try to make sense of the situation.

'If he's in a hospital, then where am I in terms of plot?

A suffocating presence appears over my skin as I get closer to him, making my heart drop to my stomach, when suddenly the pressure leaves quickly. As if nothing had just occurred.

Was what I just felt Sukuna's finger? No, it should be the remnants of the cursed energy from the seal, the real finger is at the school, and i'm not planning on being there when everything goes down.

'I think that this is the scene when his grandfather dies, and he's going to the front desk. if so, then megumi should appear sometime soon.'

We reach reception, and I watch Yuji talk to the nurse stationed there and sign a few papers. As he gets up to leave, and I move toward the receptionist, intending to ask a few questions related to where exactly is this hospital located in Japan.

A black haired teen in an all black uniform enters. His hair, not dissimilar to that of a hedgehog's stands out, along with his all black outfit. Megumi Fushiguro.

"Yuji Itadori, correct?"
