Chapter 535 - Chapter 529: The Magic God's Strike

The "bow" has appeared.

It was a massive ballista. Li Mo standing before it looked as insignificant as dust. Its size was so immense that even Surtr would seem dwarfed holding it.

The Gungnir in his hand was tossed into the air, then instantly enlarged, falling into the giant ballista to become the "arrow."

"Whoosh!"

Aiming wasn't needed, because Odin's "Spear" carried the attribute of "hitting its target without fail." Moreover, Surtr was so huge, so obvious. How could there be any reason to miss?

Thus, it hit.

It hit the Sword of Flame in Surtr's hand.

No matter how strong the Flame Giant King was, he would not look down upon Odin. That was the All-Father of Norse mythology, the strongest existence in the myths. Even if he had killed him once during Ragnarok, that was no reason to underestimate his opponent.

Facing the "Spear," he judged its trajectory and used the Sword of Flame to block in front of his chest, successfully intercepting the strike.

Then his left hand grabbed for the "Spear's" shaft. How could he not see that this "Spear" was the source of the other's many divine feats? He just needed to seize this spear, he just needed to seize this spear...

The enlarged "Spear" could be easily grasped by the giant Surtr. But could a "Spear" that could change size at will not become small again after enlarging? Li Mo recalled the spear once more.

The giant ballista beneath his feet replenished its "ammunition." This time, what was loaded was not the "Spear," but an ordinary arrow.

As the "Spear" returned to his hand, the number of ballistae began to change. From one became two, two became four, four became eight... each one splitting, multiplying exponentially each time. In a few breaths, the number of "ballistae" reached an uncountable degree.

The entire sky was filled with giant ballistae.

Surtr's Sword of Flame arrived.

The Sword of Flame symbolizing the Great Ruin swung, a massive heatwave crashing forward. Surtr saw clearly—his Sword of Flame could only destroy a portion of the "ballistae." Because their numbers were too vast, even the giant Sword of Flame couldn't destroy all of them with its blade alone.

He could only rely on the flames, on the heatwave.

However, the flames symbolizing destruction swept forward not far before being intercepted—no, it couldn't be said to be intercepted. It was more like being absorbed.

As if in an instant, all the "ballistae" flashed with the light of runes, then absorbed all the destructive flames.

Just like the Bifrost had absorbed his power.

"Odin!"

Those were Runes, the original Runes.

Surtr would not mistake them. In that instant, the other had used Runes to enhance all the "ballistae," preventing the countless "ballistae" filling the sky from being destroyed.

It was in that very moment.

The "ballistae" fired. Innumerable arrows fell like rain. The world before Surtr's eyes was enveloped by arrows. He could clearly see the tip of each arrow shining with light—the light of Runes.

Runes were symbols the Great God used to describe the world with intent. They possessed various strange abilities. And on these arrows were Runes that could bring death.

"Unbridled rage serves no purpose in battle, Surtr," Li Mo stated calmly.

Ordinary arrows would have no effect on Surtr; such arrows would be consumed by the flames covering his body upon approach. After devouring Fenrir, a portion of the flames on Surtr's body had transformed into icy flames.

The contradictory pair of ice and flame appearing on a single individual was astonishing. But cold and heat could, in fact, be seen as one thing.

Li Mo would not underestimate Surtr, nor would he make useless efforts.

That each arrow carried Runes was his stance.

How many arrows were there? Countless.

Enchanting arrows was effortless, as it was a simple process. The original Runes were, for "Odin," as easy as breathing. But if the number of enchantments expanded to countless, enchanting an army's worth of arrows simultaneously, that would be stressful.

Gods are not omnipotent.

Especially the gods of Norse mythology, destined for Ragnarok, having little to do with omnipotence.

Li Mo could achieve this step simply because he was "Odin."

The Great God "Odin" as spread throughout the entire Fate multiverse's Norse mythology.

The entity from whom he borrowed power was the *concept* of "Odin," not a specific Odin from a particular worldline. This felt completely different from "Sainthood Transformation · Raiden Shogun."

Moreover, within this "Odin," some impurities belonging to "Othinus" were mixed in.

Perhaps due to the 103,000 magical texts, perhaps due to "Pseudo·Imitated Star Creation Mythos·Mystical Foundation." The specific principle, Li Mo was not clear about.

Not being clear was fine. Mystery is essentially a black box; who cares what's inside? As long as it can be used.

"It should end now."

Li Mo grasped that impurity belonging to "Othinus."

He could vaguely feel that the source of this impurity's power came from a very, very distant place. But exactly how far, he couldn't say. It was a world beyond his perception.

But, it still didn't matter.

Power is power. His own is good. Belonging to others is also fine. As long as it can eliminate the enemy before him, it is good power.

"Are you being presumptuous? Odin! Are you insulting me?"

Surtr's roar emerged once more.

Flames, flames filling the sky and earth occupied the entire world. In an instant, the seemingly infinite "ballistae" before Li Mo, enhanced with Runes, were destroyed.

Li Mo raised his hand. Endless ice and snow appeared before him, clashing with the all-encompassing flames. Cold and heat collided, producing thick white vapor in the middle.

What a spectacular sight. Flames, steam, ice and snow—all ordinary things. But on such a massive scale, it was extraordinary. The collision of cold and heat, the clash of water and flame, a song of ice and fire.

Li Mo grew increasingly familiar with this power, but he could feel the power brought by "Sainthood Transformation · Odin" continuously rising.

For now, it could still be controlled. But later?

Previously, he needed to use the "Spear" to oppose Surtr. Now, using Runes alone could oppose Surtr.

Delaying further held no meaning.

Li Mo raised the spear and tossed the "Spear" behind him.

The "Spear" served as a point. Then the point extended into a line. The line continuously split, turned, extended, constructing patterns. Simple patterns intertwined, forming a massive, immensely complex pattern.

A pentagram? A hexagon? Various mystical patterns could be found within it. Yet the entire pattern was an incomprehensible existence; even Li Mo himself couldn't interpret it.

He kept his hand raised, using Runes to oppose Surtr. The giant's roars still echoed in his ears, but he entered a transcendent state.

As the pattern completed, a gigantic "bow" appeared.

The "ballistae" created earlier had accumulated experience for this moment.

It was a weapon not belonging to "Odin," but unique to "Othinus."

The pattern behind him resembled ten wings, containing infinite mystery within. Surtr felt the aura of death, as if death itself was approaching him.

The Flame Giant King roared. The instigator of Ragnarok bellowed.

"I AM THE ONE WHO BRINGS THE END TO THE WORLD!!!"

Li Mo paid no heed to what Surtr was saying. He felt that rhythm, that power from the Great God "Odin," that power from the Magic God "Othinus."

The "Spear" was fired from the "bow."

And so, the strike of a Magic God pierced through the Sword of Flame, pierced through Surtr.
