Chapter 884 - Chapter 884: Bloody Incident

"So, why did you leave that place?"

Casually draping a piece of clothing over Lilith, Alaric asked offhandedly.

"Life there was clearly so wonderful, beautiful scenery, no worries about food or drink. Why leave and come to this harsh wilderness instead?"

"Because…" At this point, Lilith couldn't help but blush slightly. "Because Adam wanted to be on top of me!"

"W-what?" Alaric was momentarily dumbfounded by such a strange reason.

"That Adam wanted to be on top of me," Lilith repeated, her tone becoming smoother, as if she had suffered a great injustice.

"Clearly, Adam and Lilith are equal in status. Why should he be above me? I refused, but Yahweh agreed with Adam, so I ran away."

"…So it's about who's on top and who's below?"

Such a ridiculous reason had caused Il, that is, the first woman created by Yahweh, to flee. Alaric found it both laughable and baffling.

"Even after becoming like that, he still subconsciously favors the male side? Or is it some kind of subconscious inner struggle?"

"?"

Lilith had no idea what the man in front of her was talking about.

In fact, Alaric was referring to Il.

As mentioned before, Il had once been ambushed by Baal and suffered the same fate as Uranus.

And as he embarked on the path of becoming a eunuch, and later signed a contract with the Angel Reincarnation Pool, he went even further, becoming like the angels he created, completely losing all sexual characteristics.

Of course, this was also because he had not truly unlocked the hidden functions of the Angel Reincarnation Pool.

But in any case, he had now become a deity who, aside from single-mindedly pursuing strength and expansion, had lost ambition in all other aspects.

In fact, the reason Alaric chose him as someone to support was precisely because of this "defect."

After all, in Alaric's design, true angels were all supposed to be girls.

In any case, upon hearing that Lilith had left the "Garden of Eden", which was the habitat Il had prepared for the human race he created following Alaric's suggestion, Alaric found it rather absurd.

Only humans created by gods could make such ridiculous blunders.

Looking at the man before her, whose expression was complicated, Lilith felt a wave of unease.

[He wouldn't abandon me just because I'm this kind of woman, would he… I don't want to keep wandering alone in the wilderness!]

Thinking this, she suddenly blurted out:

"I-if it's you, then… I can accept being below too… really! P-please don't drive me away!"

As if trying to prove her sincerity, she even began to remove the clothes she had just put on.

Lilith's words snapped Alaric out of his thoughts.

Seeing the girl on the verge of tears, Alaric couldn't help but smile wryly.

"No, I won't drive you away. Don't worry." While comforting her, Alaric grabbed her hands as she was undressing, stopping her from continuing.

But even with her clothes only half-fastened, the partially revealed appearance, combined with her body that fully embodied feminine charm, was more than enough to be alluring.

Helping the girl get dressed properly, Alaric said half-jokingly:

"So, do you really understand now what Adam meant by wanting to be on top of you?"

"O-of course." At the mention of this, Lilith blushed again.

"I-it means reproducing a new race. B-but even so, I'm willing." As if to prove herself, Lilith spoke the last sentence in great urgency.

"Alright, I believe you." Gently patting the girl's crimson hair, Alaric said softly.

Generally speaking, in order to produce outstanding offspring, the first generation of humans created by the gods possessed extremely high quality.

They were essentially the culmination of all human strengths, ensuring that even as their descendants' bloodlines weakened through reproduction, they would not truly become weak.

This resulted in the earliest humans in all mythologies, the so-called primordial humans, being beings comparable to demigods, possessing exceptional intelligence, physique, and talent.

Lilith was naturally no exception, compared to Eve, who was created from a man's rib, she, who was personally created by God, was even superior.

But even so, she had only just been created and knew nothing.

After leaving Eden and wandering alone in the wilderness, faced with this unfamiliar and complex environment, she was naturally filled with panic and fear.

This was also why she currently lacked any sense of security and kept trying to please Alaric.

Aside from repeatedly comforting her, what else could Alaric do?

"So, how did you find me, and where did this book come from?"

Alaric asked curiously.

"It… it was Samael," Lilith hesitated slightly before finally speaking. "It was an angel named Samael. She temporarily took me in and gave me this book to pass the time.

Oh, and she's also the one who told me you were here. She said she sensed a presence from your direction that didn't belong to Yahweh but was of the same kind."

As she spoke, she looked at Alaric pitifully.

"You won't do anything to her, right? Samael… she didn't mean any harm…"

Like a helpless little animal, Lilith cautiously pleaded on behalf of the only angel who had helped her.

Seeing her like this, Alaric's expression became extremely gentle.

"Of course I won't do anything to your friend. And even in such a difficult situation, you still care about your friend, Lilith really is a good girl."

"Friend…?" Lilith's gaze was somewhat confused.

"A friend is someone who can understand and help each other," Alaric explained.

Alaric's words made Lilith thoughtful, and soon her eyes became firm. "That's right, Samael is my friend. She's the only one among the angels willing to help me."

Looking at her like this, Alaric felt a bit emotional.

In fact, in mythological legends, Lilith was never a positive figure.

After leaving Adam out of dissatisfaction, she later became a female demon who tempted humans and killed infants.

There were also claims that she was a female vampire or a succubus, in any case, none of them were positive roles.

Who would have thought that such a figure representing evil in mythology was originally a kind yet somewhat proud woman?

Perhaps the reason she eventually walked the path of evil was precisely because, after her birth, she was not properly guided and instead was tempted by evil.

After all, she was merely a newly created human, though she possessed a mature and alluring appearance, her heart was like that of a child.

...

PS1: In a certain fragment of Canaanite mythology, Il indeed has a legend of being castrated by Baal.

PS2: In the 13th-century work of Isaac ben Jacob ha-Cohen, there is indeed a claim that Lilith married the archangel Samael after leaving Adam.

PS3: It is said that Lilith has a daughter named Lilim, who is the first succubus, not a slime.

PS4: The reason Lilith and Adam fell out over who would be on top is not the author's joke, but comes from the original myth…

Perhaps the myth intended to satirize the consequences of female pride, but as written, it just comes off as absurd. Considering Lilith's later acts of revenge, it truly became a bloody incident caused by a position.

PS5: The idea that Lilith taught Cain to become a vampire actually originates from White Wolf's setting, the same White Wolf company that compiled the Warcraft "White Wolf Joke Collection."
