[3rd POV]
Walking up to the old castle that had been protecting the wall for thousands of years, since before many of the modern families had even been founded. Since before the Iron Throne had been forged, Lucifer had to admit that she was...underwhelmed.
Now, don't get her wrong, the castle itself was actually not terrible. Oh, it's actual walls and defenses were, they were awful and quite literally falling apart. But what was not terrible was the ancient runes that Lucifer had noticed, inscribed throughout the castle meant to be the first line of defense against the White Walkers, and the Long Night.
Well, at least the first line if we are excluding the wall itself.
The runes inside of the castle were far different than the ones outside, and very obviously were made by humans. Likely ancient Starks or someone else similar. either way, Lucifer was quite impressed with the ancient runes, and decided to reactive them when they entered the old castle.
Which is what they were trying to do. While Daenerys was still in between them, her true form cloaked underneath protections, making her look like a perfect child of the two of them. While they had an aura around them that would make any of the men inside not even think of doing anything to them.
Lucifer ended up doing this because the current Night's Watch was...kind of a joke. It was all rapists and murders and other folk like that. Nobody in the watch besides a very very very small handful, were actually good people.
One of the few good people was the one that greeted them. A tall man that looked aged and worn. He had seen quite a lot, just from the gaze in his eyes.
Lucifer and Alice both knew this man to be the current Lord Commander of the watch, Jeor Mormont. He had previously been the lord of House Mormont, but after some rather unfortunate events in the past, he had come here.
He looked exactly as he had in the show, the only difference being that he looked a little younger, but not by much. He was still old, and still hardened by the countless battles that he has been through.
It would be far stranger to look any different if you are the lord commander of the Nights Watch.
Standing in front of the man, Lucifer watched as the man glanced between the two, before speaking.
"My ladies, what are you doing all the way out here, at the wall?" Jeor spoke, as he assumed that the two in front of him were ladies from a wealthy family. The clothing that they wore, and the comfortable looks on their faces made him think that much.
He was wrong...well, sort of at least.
"We wished to see the sights of the wall, from the very top" Lucifer responded with a simple smile on her face, as she inwardly began to bend reality off in the distance, deciding to make something up in order to get in.
She could force it, but that'd send a bad message for Daenerys, and she wanted the little girl to be comfortable around her.
"I'm afraid that I cannot allow that, my lady. It is not safe, and you do not-" "I believe we can pay for it, if you'd like" Lucifer cut the man off, as he stopped.
"Pay for it?" He questioned, as she nodded.
"Indeed. I have a few carts not far away. They have supplies that I am certain the Nights Watch would be greatly appreciative of. Should you allow me and my...friends here to see the top of the wall, as well as speak with the Maester of yours, it will be yours to use as you wish" Lucifer offered, as the man stared at her silently.
"I'll also add that these carts are full of food, new weapons, new clothing, things that I had specifically picked out in order to help you and your watch" Lucifer added, as the man stared at her silently before speaking.
"...I suppose I can't deny such an offer. But I must ask, why give us so much for such a small thing?" Jeor asked.
"Because your Watch - even with who it is built up from - is doing good. Stopping the wildlings beyond the wall from getting past more. Keeping the criminals that do not deserve death but also do not deserve to live freely to work in an area that can do some good. And the biggest of them all, you protect the rest of the Kingdoms from what lies beyond, that, and I think your cloaks look cool" Lucifer responded with a calm smile on her face, Alice letting out a small giggle at her final words.
She liked their cloaks too, but personally liked the Starks ones even more.
Jeor let out his own smile at the words, before motioning.
"Come, I'll show you the sights upon the top of the wall, and then you may see our Maester" Jeor said, motioning for them to follow, and they did.
As they stepped inside of the castle walls, they noticed that they were in the courtyard, a sort of training ground. The men that were training in the training grounds, all looked at them the second they had stepped into the area.
More noticeably, they had looked them over. With gazes that made Lucifer frown, a glare forming in her eyes as they all flinched back and began to get back to whatever they were doing. Every instinct in their bodies telling them to not dare look at her like that again.
Well more like never look at Alice like that again, but still.
Jeor noticed the glare, but didn't say anything. Whether or not it was because he was scared she didn't know.
"So, I must ask, what house do you belong to, if you have the necessary supplies to aid the Watch so casually?" Jeor asked interested, as they walked towards the lift that would bring them to the top of the wall.
It was a rather simple lift that was basically done through big ass rocks and some other things. Simple and effective, made thousands of years ago and really should be changed out eventually. It was only a matter of time before the thing falls apart.
With how old it was.
She had to admit that it was honestly impressive that it was even holding together at this point. With how ancient it all was, and how run down it all was. There was a reason why most of the other castles on the wall had all become run down and abandoned.
Beyond the lack of funding at least.
But that lack of funding was...well, pretty well founded to be honest. Lucifer didn't blame the lords of Westeros to not want to fund the place. It was...valid. Why would they send money to fund an organization that was founded on protecting the realms against something that didn't even seem to exist in the first place?
And sure, Wildlings were bad, but they were not bad enough to send quite a lot of coin in order to fund it. And they certainly weren't a big enough problem to repair all the castles on the wall.
Lucifer could only gaze off into the distance as she was raised up towards the top of the wall, one thought on her mind.
'...Let's see what the lands beyond the North look like!'
