Pei Ye added a handful of dry wood to the campfire, pulling the puppet in front of him.
"The rumors say you can summon a sea of fire with a wave of your hand, yet here you are adding your own firewood."
Pei Ye chuckled, "Hmm. If everything came with just a wave of the hand, it wouldn't feel right inside."
"What's not right about it?" Lu Yuque asked curiously.
"Hmm... I'm not sure. Maybe it just doesn't feel quite human."
Lu Yuque tilted her head, unsure if she understood. She curled up, wrapped in a cloak; the northwest sky was still a bit chilly for her. Pei Ye scrutinized the puppet, watching silently.
"Have you figured out its Spiritual Mystery circuitry?" Pei Ye unfolded it, looking down.
"No," Black Cat replied, "It's too intricate and dense. Over the past day, I've barely managed to trace it all using the Chi Fire Line, but I still don't know what seventy percent of it is for."
